Wow check out this cool essay...
I was unfortunate enough to come across this while browsing gp4t:
www.gp4 teens.com/forum/viewthread.asp?forumid=5&messageid=233138&ds=Freud+and+Fraud
(remove space)
Note his reply to my analysis of his little piece of rhetoric at the bottom of the page.
An essay like this wouldn't fly with any teachers I've had at this university. I'm guessing he goes to a Christian one.

Wow these people can't even accept the fact that humans are animals. Strange, because scientists have been finding as of late that many intelligent animals can develop human like mental problems. Dogs can get separation trauma, baboons get ulcers from stress, parrots get jealous.
All very 'human' traits, that these nutballs would have us believe were ordained by some diety when in fact they are simply the byproduct of having terrestrial physiology and extremely complex brains, which get more complex in higher animals.

Also remember cruelty for the sake of being cruel also exhibits itself in animal society.SyntaxVorlon wrote:Wow these people can't even accept the fact that humans are animals. Examples: The dolphin-porpoise gang war that's going on, if a porpoise is all alone, those dolphins do some pretty vile things to it, and generally just push out the porpoises whenever possible, when they already have enough resources to peacefully coexist.
Orcas playing tennis with seals. Yes it's true, unfortunately, i don't mean the orcas and the seals have rackets...no, the orcas play tennis with the seals. they bat them up into the air with their tails and they crash into the waves, often taking several hits to die. Not only this, but the orcas play long after the seals are dead too, and often leave without eating the seal.
Baboons/chimps. Chimps, the animal closest us, we shouldnt be surprised are vicious little beggars, they have allocated hunting times and have the beginnings of a human-like culture based around this hunting. Baboons Mentally intimidate each other...
And we think we're so different...

At least they provide an excuse to dislike Freud. Many people just throw Freud out of the window without even explaining why.Yuri Prime wrote:I was unfortunate enough to come across this while browsing gp4t:

Oh, many have a simpler reason: his theories are not falsifiable... hmm, that applies to a whole chunk of psychology, actually, but then personally I throw much of that out of the window as well.Simon H.Johansen wrote:At least they provide an excuse to dislike Freud. Although, in more recent times, psychology has started to shape up compared to what it used to be.

I'm registering there the first chance I get.
I am capable of rearranging the fundamental building blocks of the universe in under six seconds. I shelve physics texts under "Fiction" in my personal library! I am grasping the reigns of the universe's carriage, and every morning get up and shout "Giddy up, boy!" You may never grasp the complexities of what I do, but at least have the courtesy to feign something other than slack-jawed oblivion in my presence. I, sir, am a wizard, and I break more natural laws before breakfast than of which you are even aware!
