And of course this utterly negates the possibility that it was something Ms. Napolitano attended
on her own time and did not involve the functions of her office.

Actually, if you knew the first thing about politics in the real world, you'd know it does.
For starters, the press office didn't just check her official schedule, but her actual schedule for the day - they are meticulous about archiving every day's event, meeting, off-schedule appointment, etc.
They checked everything - she was not at ASU at all that day.
Also, governors don't take the middle of a weekday to attend a gathering like that without using it as a photo op, particularly given the op to make headway on the international relations experience credibility, and especially given what was going on between Germany and the US at the time.
And student newspaper reporters use such visits as prime ways to get experience and clips covering "bigger issues" than the student senate meetings. Local newspapers never miss covering a gubernatorial visit.
Yet there's no record in any newspaper of this event.
Nothing.
But don't worry your little head about it. A couple of TrekBBS posters who live in Germany are checking with Dr. Ralf Bartsch's office for me.
A flatuelent fraud, Danny. That's all you will ever be.
Ciao.
