Scarlet-Spider vs Jedi

Post by Crazedwraith »

Ben Reilly (in costume) vs A jedi to the death!!
I used Ben Reilly rather than Peter Parker solely to have the stingers and impact webbing. And a jedi to aviod force chokes.
The battle takes place in New York.

Was what do u think is spider-sense pre-cog better than force pre-cog? Lightsabers more use full than webbing?

Jedi shreds Spidey...while both have pre-cog and heighted agility.

Jedi has TK and TP attacks that Spidey has no counter for.

What have we eva seen a jed use tp in combat? The only canon jedi vs norm fight was in RotJ Luke didn't seem to be using any mind tricks on them.
Cant think of any in the EU. I cant think of any example of a jedi using tp in combat

The Jedi have used TP in a variety of non combat, and would make a great opener for the Jedi to find his opponent.

Plus still doesn't negate the TK powers which would actually be more then enough to bash Reilly around.

I don't think the Scarlet Spider can take down a fully trained Jedi. He doesn't carry lethal firepower and the stingers might not even work. Why? In the ESB novelization Yoda made it clear a stun blast that could knock out a human is nothing to a trained Jedi when using multiple Seekers on Skywalker, the chemical or whatever Ben uses will quite likely not do much better.

Probably because unless Parker happens to be asleep as well as infected with full-blown AIDS, there is no way a Jedi could take it easily.

Superhuman strength, agility, equal precog, vastly greater experience, and a Jobber Aura that can take down a herald of Galactus.

That's Because Ben Reilly is stupid. Spidey works fine with what he has.

Fine. Ben get's defeated because he is an inferior clone. We think. Well, he did disintigrate, right?

I say the Jedi wins, especially because I hate Ben Reilly. What can I say, I'm an irresponsible voter.

Bens inferior?? Yeah of course thats why hus powers were mutating and he got sacars all over him....oh wait he doesn't!!!
Face it Ben was pefect clone. I dont see why him being a clone makes him any better or worse than pete. As i said i only used him to have the added advantages of stingers and impact webbing

The Spider schools him, spidersense negates any so call jedi precog. SS has taken down whole teams of beings way stronger then any jedi. So unless Ben has jsut gone 12 rounds with the sinster six, venom and carnage there is no way for the jedi to win.

Nice job supporting your claim Slayven. Now when has scarlet spider taken on anyone with a very good combo of Tk, TP (not toliet paper), and who also posesses superhuman strength, agility and pre-cognitive powers that can actually predict the future. Plus spidersenses never actually turns of the precog, it just gives him an insticuall feeling that he will be chopped or something.
I could see giving this to Peter Parker if he was being used simply because the man has so much damn experiance taking down just about any superpowered being that he would probably simply outfight and outtrick the jedi. I cannot see giving it to ole Cloney however.

Actually Ben was more resourceiful then Peter seeing how he spent his life wandering. and he came up with impact webbing and stingers. He took down a New Warriors team made up of Justice(TK), firestar, Speedball, Powerpax, and Turbo. Don't remember him facing a telepath but he did manage to keep the Carnage symbiote in check while attach to him, that would take extreme mental endurance. He also handled venom pretty easily. Oh and he was able to hold his own against Kaine who's spidersense had been enchanced to a degree that he could actually see the future

He asks you to provide evidence for your claim. Instead you provide a bunch of unrelated bullshit.

"ole cloney" has all the experience of peter uptill he was cloned. He then loses five years wondering in depression cos hes a clone then comes back. The he was killed. He has most of the experience of PP

What is a Jedi going to do when he gets covered head-to-toe in webbing?

What SS going to without his head  ?

You do understand that webbing has been shown in both forms rather easily avoid...or Spidey would be screwed every time he faced VENOM.

"And a Jedi to avoid force chokes"? Obviously, you were sleeping during ROTJ when Luke killed a pair of Gamorrean guards in Jabba's palace with Force chokes.

Jedi takes this easily; all he needs is a line of sight and he can crush Spidey's larynx. If a half-assed trained Jedi like Luke can do it, a good Jedi should be able to do it with his eyes closed.

And yes, I know, you can argue that Jedi aren't always so aggressive. So what- Spidey isn't either. So don't invoke passivity as an argument.

Out of curiosity, does the novelization confirm that Luke actually killed those guards? I ask because using the Force to kill someone seems like a very Dark Sided thing to do. I can see how a Jedi might use the Force that way to choke them unconscious, thereby avoiding the need to kill them, but to just kill them outright strikes me as very sinister.
