Just Seen A Clockwork Orange
Wow. Now I have to read the book, much like American Psycho, that film was fun and fucked up at the same time and the main antagonists were always likeable.
Makes one wonder about reformation programmes though, what the gov't could try out on some convicts.

It's been a long time since I've seen the movie but he was the "body guard" that was taking care of the crippled guy who took Alex in after he got out of the program.Admiral Valdemar wrote:

No, no. In the UK David Prowse is best known as the Green Cross Code Man who helped kids in TV ads to remember how to cross roads safely (before those damn animated hedgehogs tookover, like you'd take road safety advice off future roadkill, grrr!).Tsyroc wrote:It's been a long time since I've seen the movie but he was the "body guard" that was taking care of the crippled guy who took Alex in after he got out of the program.Admiral Valdemar wrote:

"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

I knew it sounded familiar but it just wasn't clicking in my head.

Read the book. Seriously. It's a much better story than the movie presents it and really serious moral lesson that sort of gets lost in the movie (especially since they left out the events of the 21st chapter).

Yeah, it completes the book. Without the final chapter, it only brings everything to full circle... there is no actual development or lessons learned.Enforcer Talen wrote:good movie. stylish villian.

READ THE FUCKING BOOK. It's very short, too.
I first saw that movie when I was about 7. Up until around a year ago I never knew what that movie was...Just remember the rape scenes, really.
I also saw Full Metal Jacket back then, too. I thought R. Lee Ermey was Sergent Slaughter from G.I. Joe! :lol : Only remembered the part where Pyle blows him away (but not Pyle blowing himself away for some reason.)
...This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old...ultraviolence.

Clockwork is an awesome movie. I saw it the first time when I was ten, didn't like it much then, but when it came from television last January I fell in love with it. Too bad I replaced my Alex avatar with Tony just a week ago... Oh yeah, that line about "The Green Cross Code Man" gave me a good laugh.

EDITED.
Anyway, every time I watch that horrible, beautiful, sickening, brilliant film, I end up compelled to use Nadsat for at least 3 days!
I'm having a hard time not slipping into it just thinking about the film -- especially because, as a young malchick (oops) I got up to a bit of nahstiness myself, yessss!
