No such system has been discussed. But I think a very short-range inhibitor could be acceptable, short range enough that you could need to know a vessel was coming ahead of time to get in position rather then simply blanketing an area.

I think that would be acceptable. Such a system should be rather bulky and power intensive. Provided that it's fair enough.Sea Skimmer wrote:No such system has been discussed. So, going to finish negotiations in the treaty thread?
And could those of you how have not done so please get at least a naval order of battle up for their power in the finnal thread? Once we have all of those starting this thing becomes an option. But right now where missing several powers.

Me? I've got an Order of Battle up. Need to finish negotiations though.Sea Skimmer wrote:So, going to finish negotiations in the treaty thread?

Well you could just declare a huge mass of light infantry and the Federation would be happy to sell you a few thousand heavy divisions worth of equipment.Stormbringer wrote:
Yeah, just have to figure out the ground elements.

It's my understanding that most 40K ground forces are only viable with galaxy wide technological regression. But it's fine by me as long as you don't then attempt to claim any exceptional capabilities for themSpyder wrote:Can we just assume standardized W40k ground forces with the exceptions declared in the OOB? It's going to be hard enough tracking everybody's ship stats without worrying about what the ground pounders are doing.

I hate WH40K ground combat. Mechs, super-duper space marines, and overemphasis on individuals. It's just not realistic for the galaxy we're describing in this game.Sea Skimmer wrote:It's my understanding that most 40K ground forces are only viable with galaxy wide technological regression. I mentioned it as a benchmark for technology not as a model for the STGOD. It does have the problems with table top games. But the tech is easy to understand and the universe actually has the whole mix of elements.Pablo Sanchez wrote:I hate WH40K ground combat. Phew, that's a relief. I've never played a game of W40k in my life.Sea Skimmer wrote:Well then scratch that load of crap
Ok, how about we just declare a few unique things, like the Hive Recycled Soldiers for example and then just use common sense for the rest. Eg, tanks roll around and blow things up, ARTY starts hammering X outpost or X unit formation ect ect...just common sense stuff.
And that note, lets just run ground combat as we would combat now, just with higher tech weaponsSpyder wrote:Phew, that's a relief. I've never played a game of W40k in my life.Sea Skimmer wrote:Well then scratch that load of crap

It was 150-200 and for ships. Technobabble mass reduction is acceptable to allow for faster missiles.

It'd be okay with me at this point. I was just kind of ticked that I had left it up for quite a while and had a bunch of people asking only after things had gone forward.Spyder wrote:Considering that we're all starting at the same time anyway it seemed rediculous to me.Sea Skimmer wrote:I don’t care one way or anotherSpyder wrote:
