Eh...still nice line-up of what possibly to expect.
Well, GL and company might be covering their asses with this one. Wild speculation on my part, but Christopher Lee is pretty old and if he just happens to die between now and the end of shooting for Episode III (or at least his parts in the film), they have something they can use in the meantime...
On second thought, even if Mr. Lee were to pass on in that case, GL could always slap him in digitally, in much the same way as was done in the fight scenes in AOTC...

Groan. Don't remind me about idiot LFL/EU (and with kudos to GL for this bit too) scale stupidity.Axis Kast wrote:Stover does rock, yes. Although I hear people hatred Traitor.
Stover also tells us the size of the galaxy. He has Windu claim - as a general in the Grand Army of the Republic - that there are barely 1.2 million clone troopers.
By seeding their borders with 'droid starfighters and saving a ready-reserve of TF BBs and Geonosian Dreadnaughts, the CIS has more or less rendered itself unassailable for the time being.
Mace says that if the 1.2 million army was spread to everyone world in the Republic, barely thousands would be left. And that's to put one single man on every planet.

Because Lord knows you know what Star Wars should be better then the person who created it, their company, and the person he gave specific instructions to.Illuminatus Primus wrote:Groan. I suppose you can somehow "mine space" with enough ships to effectively prevent incursions despite how fucking big it is and account for that pesky third dimension?Ender wrote:Because Lord knows you know what Star Wars should be better then the person who created it, their company, and the person he gave specific instructions to.
An Army of 1.2 million would not be able to police Coruscant or Metelos or any other of the heavily built up worlds, which are not all that uncommon. Its not even worthy as a police force.
It is Wars, doesn't mean it isn't stupid.
And I suppose you have proof that you know he recieved instructions from Lucas himself?

And your bitching and moaning like this is EXACTLY the same thing you ripped Bob Brown on. That was my point.Illuminatus Primus wrote:I suppose you can somehow "mine space" with enough ships to effectively prevent incursions despite how fucking big it is and account for that pesky third dimension?Ender wrote:Because Lord knows you know what Star Wars should be better then the person who created it, their company, and the person he gave specific instructions to.

I ripped at Bob Brown because he implies (in fact directly, numerous times) that he knows how Star Wars could've been the grand legend, and how its creator fucked it up. Bob jumped to conclusions without realizing things (like his anger about the droids, the fact that the TF isn't explained in excruciating detail, and the hover tank thing), and made a big scene about how everyone w/out his perspective wasn't a true fan or something, and then bailed out because Lucas didn't write his Star Wars.Ender wrote:And your bitching and moaning like this is EXACTLY the same thing you ripped Bob Brown on. I don't know how to write Star Wars, and I don't think I can. It doesn't take a lot of figuring that in a galaxy 120 thousand light-years across, with ~50 million colonized planets and ~1 million major ones, with numerous worlds that have populations probably around 1 quadrillion individuals and an industrial base that can build 60% of a 900 kilometer-diameter space station in six months and drain oceans with a fleet, that 1.2 million troopers is a grain of salt in a vast ocean.
Star Wars is George Lucas' baby, I've never contested that. Do I think when he wrote AOTC he didn't take into account the scale of his own universe implied in other parts of the same damn movie? Yeah, probably.
Now regardless if it annoys you, I don't really give a shit. It's dumb and I'll say it is as such.
EDIT: Are you implying that you don't think a longer, more intense clone war, at least with lots of action soon, and a larger amount of clones (doing the brunt of the fighting) wouldn't make for a better story and be more realistic?

Sorry Axis, but while visualy that would be something, in the end it makes little if no sense. Why waste the power to do that? At the risk of offending, thats dumb.Axis Kast wrote:In Shatterpoint, Windu is the man.
They also raise the question of whether we'll see lightsaber duels by the force rather than actual combatants. You know, spinning 'sabers without people actually using them directly.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Look, my lightsaber struck where your hand would have been!Darth Garden Gnome wrote:It matches Tarkin's 1 million planets quote from the ANH novelization.Axis Kast wrote:Mace says that if the 1.2 million army was spread to everyone world in the Republic, barely thousands would be left. Lets paint a picture here...Because it's cool in my opinion?
Two guys, standing at opposite ends of the room with their eyes closed and perhaps waving their arms about while a pair of blades fling around in the air really fast; there are no intricate maneuvers or generally showing off a Jedi's power. Just two sabers hovering in the center of the room smacking each other.
IMHO it would be excrutiatingly boring.
