You should dumb down the DEFENSE, not the OFFENSE. The offense had long since grown to the point where it is a matter of 100x overkill or 1000x overkill versus a ST vessel. But with defense dumbed down, maybe 10 ships can hurt the SD instead of 10000.Captain_Cyran wrote:I don't know about writers, directors, blah blah blah. But I would probably go with TNG cast for the Trek, and a new cast for Star Wars. You need TNG in there, the original Wars actors are not as required. Storyline? I would dumb down the power of Star Wars for storyline and battle purposes. Honestly it's not gonna be that cool of a movie with Wars just wiping away all competition without breaking a sweat, I'd probably say Wars having a firepower level of about Wong's first fanfic.
Besides, I'd prefer to upgun Trek anyway. We can probably just say they stuffed more antimatter into their photorps or something.
At least one side must have a familiar cast, or else watchers may feel lost and without continuity... I've been told that characters tie the unfamiliar sci-fi universe to us or something like that. If that's so, imagine this.
32nd century Fed versus Empire: "Great, what's this? I see a Star Destroyer, but nobody from Wars. And I'm not even sure what they're fighting. I don't know anything about the other side! Is that other side even Star Trek. Maybe it is, because there's so much treknobabble, but I'm not sure."
