"Pipe dreams" Same meaning, and from the same root: delusions induced by opium use. (See jmac's post earlier in this thread)

I presume you are tired, have been drinking or are ill, as this whole response was far, far beneath the kind of argumentation I know you are capable of.

We'll talk when you are feeling more up to snuff.

Damn, Rucker, while I like some of the tenets of Liberatrianism I am at least sober enough to realize that much of them are just untenable in modern society.

Seriously, leaving things to "private business" means going back to unregulated child labor, 16-hour workdays for $5.00 a day and no way to regulate environmental damage. Gov't regs demand certain things of business that are, frankly, hurtful to a business's bottom line and they would freely cut back without the hand of gov't forcing them. Would any business in its right mind seriously pay for health care and 401k?

Imagine everyone being able to regulate their own traffic laws, currency, and eduction system? We'd eventually come under a system of corporate feudalsim, with CEOs the lords and workers the serfs, corporate security the footmen and knights that keep the rabble in line.

Unrefined Liberatarianism is like Communism: a fantasy land where absolutely everyone on the face of the planet can't wait to wake up at the crack of dawn and bust ass in field and factory all day on the promise that good ol' human fair play and justice will keep everything running smooth.

'Taint gonna happen. Haight-Ashbury pipe dreams.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Typical. You highlight the fact that he never backs up anything he says, and in response he issues an ad hom.

If TQ had thrown a healthy dose of obfuscation in, you'd have the Classical Rucker. As it is, he's working overtime to appear civil, which must be a serious distraction.

I just have a few comments.
Would any business in its right mind seriously pay for health care and 401k?
Businesses started paying for healthcare by themselves in the 1940s, if I recall correctly. Healthcare options would certainly still be available for skilled labor. And businesses don't pay for 401ks, either, they offer various investment options to employees and deduct a certain amount from their paycheck to invest in the 401k plan.
Imagine everyone being able to regulate their own traffic laws, currency, and eduction system? We'd eventually come under a system of corporate feudalsim, with CEOs the lords and workers the serfs, corporate security the footmen and knights that keep the rabble in line.
Points. But don't forget how difficult it is for a corporation to become really, really powerful without government intervention of some kind. Most of the really nasty monopolies in American history have enjoyed a relatively substantial amount of government protection.

Typical Stork Fucker like RDJ said; make outrageous claims, and then
not back them up...

We're still waiting for you to BACK UP THAT CLAIM

And making up bullshit about Alyseka posting to the HAB when he hasn't
posted at all to HAB for the last 24 hours is just stupid.

Or was it just a boast? Will we have to wait until the heat death of the universe to find out?

Stop dancing around the issue by making stupid snide comments, either
admit that you don't know jack shit, or PROVE your boast.

Funny thing:
All I have to do is hit CTRL-V and cut n paste this missive. Storky on the
other hand, has to spend at least 30 seconds thinking up a reply.

LOL, who's dancing to whose tune now?

Typical TK, make outlandish boasts, and then evasively refuse to back
them up - reminds me of those "psychics" that won't meet with James

Storm Rucker, please go away. You are unloved here. Your pointless hounding of RDJ is annoying, no matter how righteous you think your little vendetta is. You're not going to convince anyone of anything, and quite frankly even if you did they'd probably just shrug their shoulder and keep it to themselves. You're not impressing anyone.

Why not? They're all the same anyway, with the same things being said over and over.
