Where/What do you hunt?

Post by Death from the Sea »

For all you hunters out there. Where do you hunt? and
What do you hunt? What kind of hardware do you use?

I hunt just 20 miles north of Fredericksburg, Texas. We have whitetail deer, blackbuck(antelope), squirrels, dove, quail, rabbits and turkeys. Then there are the varmits such as raccoons, skunks, cyotes, foxes and snakes, etc...
I hunt with my Remington .270 model 700(bolt-action) with a Bushnell 3x9 40mm scope, and my H&K USP .40 caliber pistol. I use a stainless steel Marlin .22 long rilfe semi-auto for the smaller stuff.

NOTE: Anti-hunters please don't post here, I made a different thread in SLAM for the ethics of hunting.

I hunt Ningen. Tough bastards. I use a custom semi-auto .30-06 with a 50 mm variable zoom scope 2x to 40x. As for where, wherever I want since they are found all over the place.

Their vestigial tails make good trophies.

I've hunted Deer and Elk with both a 7mm and .30-06 Remington 700. I've also hunted ducks with a shotgun when I was younger but I couldn't tell you the gauge or model now. I'm also known to sometimes shoot anything non-human that moves, generally a rabbit or squirrel but I generally don't go out specifically to hunt anything that small. I've also used an M1911 once or twice and I may take up-bow hunting. Archery has never been my thing, but I've got a friend whose nuts about it, though for competition not hunting, and several people have recommended it to me.

I live just east of Philadelphia Pennsylvania but most of my hunting has been in Idaho.

I hunt stupid people. Unfortunately, the laws prevent actual kills

I hunt ladies.
The way I hunt is comprable to hunting deer with no ammo, no truck, no beer, and from a beach in hawaii.

I uphold the ninja code of honor by hunting pirates and clowns. Except for Maddox; he's all right by me.

Arrr harrr me maties... err, I mean, I say old bean, damn pirate went that way, don't you know...

I hunt Lobsters, Elephants, Possessed Beanbags, maniacal fiends wielding clarinets, and my hair brush. Damn thing's more elusive than the Ravenous Bug Blatter Beast of Traal, and twice as intelligent, I've been deploying bad hair day lures to try and bring it out, but its a cunning beast, masterful in the art of camoflage and making me look like a lazy bastard, one day, I shall capture that Great Whitey-Silvery Brush and I shall smite its ruin upon the bed. To the last I grapple with it, into the depths of my hair, I stab with it, and for my reputation's sake, I split my last end at it

Deer, Antelope, Elk, and Moose, the first with both bow (to little success I confess) and rifles; the last three with only rifles. I have used exclusively .30-60 and .308 calibre rifles, always bolt-action.

When I hunted... Deer and Squirrel (with the occassional tin can or small bird). Deer with 30.06, squirrel (cans, bird) with a 4-10.

Anyone have extra venison they'd like to share? I'll pay shipping.
