Anyone else see this?
Particularly the footage of the British demonstrator getting shot while wearing a flourescent orange vest... Then having the IDF say that: "They fired a single shot at a gunman in camoflage that was firing a pistol at an outpost..." Yup, mmm-hmm. Then the Journalist who was shot on camera while advancing waving a white flag, wearing a helmet with TV marked on it in luminous tape and shouting that they were a British Journalist. IDF explanation: "They were shot in the crossfire during an attack by Palestinian Militants." Funny, the TV footage of it happening shows a distinct lack of any gunfire for the entire time it was happening with the exception of the machine gun fire from the APC that killed him - and did I mention that despite the fact it was nighttime, the Journalist and his crew were moving from a well-lit position where the IDF had ID'd them towards the APCs, at no time hiding or obstructing the line of sight as someone with ill-intent would?
I could keep listing the acts that were covered in the show, but either way I'm saying that there seems to be a quite a number of these "incidents" which are swept under the carpet and officially denied. I'm not saying that the IDF doesn't have good reason to be jumpy, but in both these cases and a few of the others (such as the protestor run over by the bull-dozer repeatedly and the palestinian schoolgirl who copped a head-shot from an Israeli sniper while in their classroom) there doesn't seem to be any legitimate reason for the attacks.

Damn. Missed that show.
Anyway, perhaps the IDF did know who they were and just shot them out of frustration? Seeing as a great deal of the time the press attacks the IDF when it does try and do something, I dont see the israeli's seeing the foreign media in a good light.
Maybe the other reason is that this stuff has gone on so long that maybe the IDF, involved in bloodshed so often, has become blase' about the importance of life, or, more to the point, blase about anyone not israeli?
I dont envy a IDF soldier there position though. Hated by the Palestinians, either hated or loved by the settlers, and trying to control a population which seems to be essentially against the idea of either assimilation or harmony. And so they are caught in the middle, and the only real press they get is when they perform an attack on a Palestinian group, usually in retaliation, hence made out to seem the 'bad guys'. The frustration they must face, being a professional army must be intense. An army is not a police force, and to try and deal with an enemy that wont come to open battle must wear on the troops.
Im not excusing their actions, just trying to see it from their POV.

If apathy could be converted to energy, Australia would have an Unlimited power source.

Can't we just nuke everyone in the world except the US, Great Britain, and their respective pseudo-clones? Life would be so much simpler.
(Canada is pseudo-America, Australia is pseudo-Britain, New Zealand is pseudo-Australia. It all works out.)

If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! All votes for me! Wheeee!" -- Lagmonster

Via money Europe could become political in five years" "... the current communities should be completed by a Finance Common Market which would lead us to European economic unity. Only then would ... the mutual commitments make it fairly easy to produce the political union which is the goal"
