If it's the nightbringer, they're dead
If it's the void Dragon, they're Very Dead
If it's the deciver, then the commonwealth will very quickly become a dictatorship.
If it's the Outsider then they are extremely dead

Of all the totally worthless replies a person could make; I'll make this one.

This post reminds me of an old joke.

What happens if you hit Cuthulu with a nuke?

He regenerates 20 seconds later, only now he glows.

Its 20 minutes, but point taken.
Personally, I find the Necrons to be annoying, because their description makes them far to powerful to fit into the balance of power of the 40k universe. Its like the GW staff were just thinking; "Hey, there aren't enough overpowered bastards with the theoretical capability of annihilating the galaxy out there, and some hope exists of at least slowing them down. Let's create something with obscenely biased flavor text, and no hard figures that can be effectively measured, so that even the most hopeless optimist will admit that the entire galaxy is fucked." The IoM's was already a struggle against hopeless odds, the portrayal of the Necrons only serves to cheapen it.

I like the NEcron's... almost. I like how they tie things together, serve as a explanation for things.. Things such as why Khaine needed 100 Swords from Vaul. (So he and 100 of his greatest warriors could fight the servants of the strongest of the C'Tan, and Khaine could kill him/It) I like how it explains why Khaine got so pissed of with Vaul when he cheated him, and only made 99 Swords and faked the 100th. (After seven days of fighting non stop, the fake sword showed itself and allowed the Necron's, nah lets call them Necron Advanced these where the top of the line models, none of the awokan C'Tan have similar Warriors, of which the Imperium is grateful I'm sure) What I don't like is the Death of DeathBringer, or whatever his name is, I don't like it because it cheapens the Fall of the Eldar. In the oiginal the Eldar fell because they got complacent and decadent, it was all their own fault. In Short it was a tragic and somehow cooler that way. But they have cheapened it because now part of the blame can be laid at the feet of this victory and the shattering of the C'Tans essence... I hate them for that.

However the deciever may be good at his job, but I know someone better, the Harlequin Laughing God, he decived the C'Tan....

He Decieved a C'tan, not all of them, annoyingly that was all that was needed. (stupid outsider :roll: ) In any case, the necron advanced have been seen, it's just rare that they find it neccesary to wheel them out of their tombs :twisted: {exactly what do you think I am? :twisted: }

Well that's one of the few ways you can do much of anything to a C'Tan.. dump 'em into the Warp and their screwed... of course there is the whole matter of doing it before they do BAD BAD THINGS to you.

I always thought that it was after the Eldar victory that they slowly over the years became complacent and decadent which brought about the Fall of the Eldar and the creation of the Dark Eldar

Nope the eldar did not defeat the necrons, they were forced into stasis by the increasing intrusion of the warp ito realspace causing massive damage to their stock of cattle..

and Tzeentch natch. Why is it everyone in the 40kverse feels the need to swipe his job anyway? (My favourite of the Chaos gods too, almost makes me want to leave the glorious hivemind.)
