Bad. They're unentertaining, stupid-looking, and their stories suffer the same flaws as the real Bible stories. No matter how cute you make it, the story of Jonah is still about God punishing a guy for not obeying him.

They seem to be mildly popular at the library I work at. As for me, I never saw any (that I can remember). I do remember another CGI show the 700 Club was previewing that involved toys justifying how it was all right for God to kill the whole planet with a flood.

Yep! And it's a hit with kids, and good Christian Parents love it more than Barney or whatever the 'hot' kidsshow is now. For one thing, there's a hidden level of humour that adults can also enjoy, such as Monty Python references in "Josh and the Big Wall".

I find it quite amusing, and although the bible tales can be iffy most of them only get into tales like the good sumaritan, which I don't believe is controversial, of course in this board anything is possible.

The 'hot' kids shows are all from england, bob the builder(gotta be, the theme song was beating Eminem in England for a while), and the teletubbies, which very christian parents hate because one of the shepards told them to.

They're certainly effective at teaching kids the Bible and getting them interested in it.

However, no amount of cute CG can make the story of the Israelites invading foreign lands and ruthlessly butchering the people who lived there any less despicable.

EDIT: Anyone want to send the following letter to the creators of Veggie Tales?

Dear Sirs,

I'm a big fan of Veggie Tales. I was having trouble teaching my children the values of the Bible, but when they saw Veggie Tales for the first time, they were hooked! Now they're always very enthusiastic about going to church on Sunday and their daily prayers. You've truly worked a miracle!

Now, I'd like to know when you plan to do the tale of Sodom and Gomorrah in Veggie Tales, as well as certain excerpts from the Book of Leviticus. One of the few things I've been having trouble getting through to my children is that homosexuals are evil and will suffer God's wrath, and it's because of these damn (pardon my swearing) liberal schools! I think the episode would be especially fitting, considering that the main character in Veggie Tales is a zucchini.

Please consider making episodes out of the more controversial parts of the Bible. The liberal media may not like them, but our children's souls are at stake. And the Book of Revelations would look really cool in CG, too!
