Funny Christian Program

Post by paladin »

I was watching this program on a christian cable channel, just a little of it. The whole idea of the program seemed to be that Christians in the US are facing persecution by Atheists. That stuck me as very funny. Since Christians are a major in the US. It would seem that Atheists would face more persecution that Christians.

Well, you're missing their whole point; When ever the Christian church does not get exactly as it wants, they're obviously being "persecuted".

That would be one of the stupidest things I ever heard. In reality it is the other way around.

Ah yes, the old "help us defeat the evil nonbelivers by sending us money!" ploy.

Yeah, that's called "projection." These retards actually believe that we atheists are persecuting THEM. I would love to see them demonstrate this, since it is us who are the 'villains' they speak about every Sunday from their pulpits.

Ohh I hate that crap. I'm an athiest and proud of it. I don't harass those that believe in a higher being. Most people that I know don't even know that I'm an athiest. I don't agree their religious beliefs, but I atleast respect their right to believe in such. Why can't they respect my right NOT to? Fucking fundies.

back when I was going to church, it was an omnipresent knowledge that christians were under attack by secularists, closed off from tv, shut out of schools -

now Im an atheist, I see the other side. . .

It's part and parcel of the Fundamentalist mindset. Fundies are black-and-white thinkers who have all-or-nothing mentalities. If they see one instance where their dogma is rejected by secularists, then they are being oppressed and harrassed. If they aren't allowed to beat people over the heads with their beliefs, they are oppressed and harrassed.

On top of that, they have the ultimate martyr complex, as it is built into their religion. If they can't complain about being oppressed and harrassed, they don't feel close enough to Jesus.

If they want to be closer to Jesus, I would recommend high doses of strichanin.

Let's go on TV and cry for donations from the public in order to save them from the nuts and whack-jobs who are trying to "save" them from the ultimate sin of thinking for themselves.

Christians facing persecution in America... Reminds me of that "Life in our Anti-Christian America" essay that had stuff like "People swear on a copy of "Orgin of the Species" in courts", "Former president George Bush said he didn't consider Christians to be US citizens", and "The pledge of alliegence says "One nation, anti-God..."".

They should realize that just because they can't establish a theocracy in the United States doesn't mean they're being persecuted.

Well it is always the claim. They van't stand the thought that they are wrong (Though to be fair I am somewhat Christian - like Blade is somewhat a vampire.). Some force is always out to get them, and they usually are or worship the devil. It would be more funny to watch if it weren't real, and far to deadly serious to ignore.

But onto the examples:

Antisodomy law struck down = Gay Agenda sweeping the nation

Stronger environmental law = Green Theocracy (i.e. Pagans) is corrupting our law and breaking pact with god

Antiabortion laws struck down = those evil liverals and their baby hating ways

Carrot Top stays around and gets gigs = The end is nigh
- But I think we all agree with this.

It's scarey enough to see the evangelist who want the US to join in a mutual defense pact with Israel, hoping to soon fight some epic final apocalyptic battle. Man, talk about people who need lives, or to get laid.
