Favorite Ship names, hmmm....

Favorite names from history, I've always liked
HMS Victory
DKM Bismarck
USS Franklin
USS Yorktown

Favorite names from fiction...
Millenium Falcon - hands down winner. All time classic
Red October
lusankya
Iron Fist - Seriously, other than Death Star is there a more intimidating ship name in Star Wars? I think not.

favorite names from the annals of my group's RPG history
The POSS (Piece of Shit Ship) - We were flying around in a YT-600...when Grand Admiral Thrawn was running wild.

The Cargo Bar - This was one of our more brilliant ideas. We tore out all the cargo space in one of our freighters and put in a fully functional space bar. We put in a door, threw in some security measures, added a killer sound system, charged a slight cover and shuttled people from one end of the galaxy to the other in what essentially became a mobile night club. Playing that game was an absolute riot.

Speaking of the Post-Dated Check Loan, anyone want to wager that it can take any of these ships, with the exception of the Culture?

Why have nobody suggested "Sovereign"?? It sounds very stately and regal.

The Warhammer 40K universe also have some good names.....

Divine Right, Heartless Destroyer, Chariot of Khaine, Hammer of Thor.....

TICONDEROGA doesn't get better than that. :D

BOUNTY If you want Ironic, well there you go. :P

INDEPENDENCE nuff said.

Stay away from Indefeatable, Invincible, Fearless, Dreadnaught, and the Titantic. Your just asking for bad Karma.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

I am wondering why no one else has chosen Enterprise. And before you say you don't like Star Trek or anything, my reason for choosing the name had nothing to do with Star Trek, more then half my ship name choices came from US navy ships. The Enterprise was the most decorated US ship of the war and saw the most action. I mean I see all these other ship names because of WW2 connections, seems every single ship except the Enterprise that is.
