Which Dead President would you vote for?

Post by BlkbrryTheGreat »

Which of the following dead Presidents would you vote for, if they ran today, and why?
Devolution is quite as natural as evolution, and may be just as pleasing, or even a good deal more pleasing, to God. If the average man is made in God's image, then a man such as Beethoven or Aristotle is plainly superior to God, and so God may be jealous of him, and eager to see his superiority perish with his bodily frame.

Shit, this probably belongs in off topic or politics.

I might vote for Teddy Rosevelt because he championed the beginnings of conservation, but he was also to quick to believe war is glorious. At least until his son was killed anyway. So I dont think he is perfect.

I admire how he overcame many physical problems in his youth to become a bit of an adventurer. I realize thats not a great reason to vote for a president, but its the honest truth.

Perhaps Thomas Jefferson could restore the nation to a semblence of constitutional balance.

Wilson, TR, or Jefferson.

Wilson, highly intelligent, but bad timing. Poor guy.

Theodore Roosevelt, I really wished he was in the White House instead of Bush on the morning of Sept. 11. One of my first thoughts that day.....

Jefferson, well, he's Jefferson! :D

Obviously, we're assuming their alive again.

Hmm.... good question. For simplicity sake we'll simply go by the old system of having the canadite with the 2nd highest number of votes be the Vice President. Some may complain about how outdated that system is, but I must point out that we have no real way of knowing who these Individuals would select for their running mates in the here and now.

Jefferson...the MOST intelligent man in the colonies...

Now this assumes they have knowledge of, and understand the changes that have taken place since they died...

Lets assume they've been "looking on" from the afterlife (assuming it exists) and have read any books, that have perked their interest, since they died. (Or seen any movies or whatever.)

Though, for some reason that does bring up a funny image of the lot of them sitting in a movie theater and watching Jurassic Park. TR would want to game hunting I'd imagine.

With that in mind (hell, without that in mind, even), Thomas Jefferson has been, for quite some time, my favorite president, as well as, in my mind, one of the most competent.

Tossup between Lincoln and Wilson. In the end I voted for Wilson, I always liked him. Maybe he could whip the UN into shape

I voted for Teddy because of the conservation and he was the first to go after monopolies.

After him I'd like Thomas Jefferson.

Washington. Jefferson was a brilliant man but probably would have made this country into a tobacco farm given the chance, and then there was that icky 11th Amendment he wanted.

which was?

anyway my vote is for TR. A real capatalist who was balanced and would fight for the little guy. War Hero, conservationist., and not afraid to say what he believed to be right.

edit: (Durran?) what is wrong with the 11'th ammendment? or are you refeing to one that failed to pass?

Tough, Tough call here. All the men listed are well qualified leaders.

For me, it comes down to either Abraham Lincoln or Franklin Roosevelt. Both Presidents led their countries superbly during wartime, steering the course of the US through two of its most difficult time periods.

In the end, I'd have to go with Lincoln. I'd also bar him from attending any performances of "Our American Cousin".

Teddy Roosevelt for reasons already listed above.

Toss up between Jefferson and FDR. But I'll probably go with Jefferson, since I don't like having my rights infringed upon.

The one that failed to pass, of course. I have no problem with the real 11th Amendment. It would have essentially made the corporate model as we know it illegal. Had it passed the United States would not be the economic superpower it is today.

Roosevelt. He wouldn't put up with any shit. Give him the U.S. military and the power to use it and his excellent ability to wield that force and yet seem benovolent would be shown in its granduer.
He was one of the best presidents and would probably take the least time to adjust to the modern situations as he helped define many of them.

Oops, I forgot to explain why I'd vote for Washington.

Because he was the man, and would probably be the ultimate role model for all future Presidents to follow. Think about it, the guy elected after Washington would have a pretty fucking high example to live up to.

Wilson would do a good job, and he wouldn't have the nasty side issues that go with the other folks.

Then again, Jackson was always my favorite president. He's such a nasty son of a bitch. I voted for Wilson, but my heart said Jackson :D

I'd say Thomas Jefferson, the writer of the United States Constitution. And if my second choice is going to be VP, then Teddy Roosevelt would be my second choice. He was a war hero and fought for the little guy.
