They should try to prosthylitise the Elephants because they also respect the dead and love their children. They must have been doing something unwholesome to have come so close to extinction.

It is interesting. Obviously they spent ALOT of time doing historic research in preparation, most liking using the Big Book of History and Stuff. As well, it looked like the local improv group got good work as actor (Okay guys in this one we are in a Mini-Mart, and there's looting and rioting. Now go.)
The best part though is to be a Scientologist. Apparently studying with them ands reading the book, you become part-Jedi/part-PI/part-Deanna Troi. It is an amazing religion. But it don't stop there, oh no. Then it will allow you to first rise through the church taking on titles and trappings of authority, spouting whatever the book has told you to think. Plus you can convert your friends into the group (or more to the point those weak enough to fall...I mean be open to it.). Then you can use the teachings to gain political power to change society. Nice. I assume the next book, the one you pay through the nose for is "How to gain influence over the world and rule it through quotes from a crappy novelist." I bet its a must read.
Is it just me or does this religion seem a lot like an old fashion pyramid, or the mother of all infomercials?

Betcha John Travolta did. He didn't crack when he butchered Battlefield Earth.
Not that it was a great book to begin with (it was pretty campy), but that just goes to show just how hard the writers worked to make it worse.
