This is probably the most ethically correct piece of legislation I've ever seen. A great idea, in my opinion.Montcalm wrote:Do the crime won`t make a dime

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

You fucking moron. That's classic sociopathy, not mental stability.kojikun wrote:Brat: What? I have to admire a 10 year old who can kill two boys then laugh like its nothing. Shes my personal hero. The drive to kill is why shes bonkers, not the calmness. Humans are bred to kill like every other animal. I don't see wolves or lions having nervous breakdowns when they kill. Only humans have these conditions where killing induces fear and terror and sorrow and remorse, and thats because we're sheltered from these things. The drive to kill, however, if it cannot be controlled, is bad. Being able to strangle someone to death and not think anything of it just makes you a very calm and cool person, it doesnt mean you WANT to strangle someone to death.SyntaxVorlon wrote:Well done canadians, you've shown that you can transend media hunger for morality.

There's a big difference between killing other animals for food and killing your own species for no particular reason. The first is natural for carnivores and omnivores, while the second is almost always selected against because it harms the species as a whole.kojikun wrote:The drive to kill is why shes bonkers, not the calmness. Illuminatus and Syntax are correct in saying that that's one of the classic signs of sociopathy. Empathy for other humans in general is natural, a complete lack of regard for other people as anything more than objects is a mental disorder.

Its only bad when they start hurting people. For all we know, pure self interest maybe be best for society (shit, I think it is). Wow, even I think that sounds assholish, and I'm... well... ME!
If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! All votes for me! Wheeee!" -- Lagmonster

If she is truly your personal hero then you might want to seek out medical help. I don't think that can be considered mental fortitude, and especially cannot be considered as an example for good mental stability. She probably didn't "crack" because she was in her own little dream world of fantasy and illusion.kojikun wrote:Brat: What? You are wrong dude. First of all people are not bred to kill, if we were the world would be like a old Roman Galdiator ring where survival of the fittest was the law of the land. Survival of the fittest is not the law of the land. Secondly I kill things all the time, I hunt and I do not have a nervous breakdown everytime I kill an animal. Do I feel bad if the animal doesn't die quickly? a little bit because I don't mean to make the animal suffer, but I don't freak out as you suggest people do when they kill something.kojikun wrote:The drive to kill is why shes bonkers, not the calmness. But the complete inability to feel remorse, and the desire to emotionally torture the relatives of your murder victim, and the revelling in other people's misery - that's emotionally stable?kojikun wrote:I believe I said that it was the "hey i wanna murder someone" part thats bad.Sindai wrote:There's a big difference between killing other animals for food and killing your own species for no particular reason. Stop combining no remorse and the desire the hurt. Thats NOT THE SAME THING. Besides, humans are vicious creatures. We enjoy killing just as much as any other carnivore does. Own species or not.innerbrat wrote:But the complete inability to feel remorse, and the desire to emotionally torture the relatives of your murder victim, and the revelling in other people's misery - that's emotionally stable?
Didja bother reading where I said "bad when they start hurting people"?...and how exactly is killing young boys and mocking their grieving parents for the fun of it in anyone's self interest?

As noted in the article, such laws have been on the books in the US for years.Crazy_Vasey wrote:It's about time someone introduced legislation like this.

And no, most of us do not enjoy killing our own species.
Didja bother even reading anything at all about Mary bell before declaring her to be mentally stable and your all time hero?Didja bother reading where I said "bad when they start hurting people"?
