The Cosmic Nullifier in the hands of a human! HOW?!

Post by Patrick Degan »

Darth Wong wrote:Galactus is an immortal super-being who is older than the universe (he is the embodied consciousness of the previous universe before this one). He preferentially consumes life energy for food, although he can also consume other forms of energy if necessary. When he first awoke, he was challenged by a mighty war fleet and promptly annihilated all of the ships and consumed the life energy and artificial energies of their crews and weapons.

At full strength (ie- when he's been feeding rather than starving himself to assuage his conscience), Galactus is immune to nuclear weapons or any other form of weaponry known to man. He consumes entire planets for food, leaving nothing but dessicated debris fields in his wake. He once consumed much of a star's energy and grew to planetary dimensions so that he could do battle with a living planet.
In one of his early appearances in the 60s, I recall dimly, Galactus was on the verge of consuming Earth until Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four somehow procured a device known as a Cosmic Nullifier. This was enough to stop Galactus cold in his tracks. I think the CN was a toy of the sentinel-beings who watch the universe...forgot what they're called.

I dunno if this has been brought up but, my favorite has to be the Imperial Terra class planetoid (by David Weber). Able to destroy solar systems in a single bound (ok more like 8 of them doing single bounds but it still only takes one bound). And the fire power to vaporise something like the Death Star II without breaking a sweat.

For mainstream SF, definitely the SPK. Its visceral effect is awesome. :D

Otherwise, have to go with anything Vaht. Literally.

It wasn't antimatter from an alternate dimension, the antimatter planets were manufactured in our own dimension, and used often in the last two books. The alternate dimension planet was taken from a universe where the intrinsic velocity of everything was 15c, and the energy release from its impact was just ridiculous.
Damn, I thought I was the only one on this board who remembered "Doc"

Vogon Construction Ships.
Maybe not the most powerful, but I like Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

One of the characters can blow up a planet (FWIW, I'm SD.net's resident moonie).

This has been answered, but a superlaser flak burst would destroy it. If it has encircled the DS, the DS would be forced to use it's turbolasers.
