Arghhh! I hate those shows, we get them on Channel 4 or BBC 2 every now and again, I dont mind the nostalgia, but I hate all these celebs who come out and tell us about how cool it was, it always seems like the same group of people, and it always seems like they're trying to prove to us that they really are normal folk.

You make a good point Montcalm. Then again, I did a lot of my growing up with LOTS of violent movies.

Yup. :) MotU was the name of the toy line and the medicore movie starring Dolph Lundgren. "He-Man and the MotU" was the TV show, probably because Filmation decided they needed to explicitly name their hero in the show.

The 80s was when American cartoons started their nosedive, IMHO. Late 70s to early 80s were the peak years, especially for Hanna-Barbera, and after that it went downhill.

Captain Planet and the Planeteers was a particularly offensive one, due to Ted Turner's preachiness.

The CBs,SSCs and MLPs were crappy, the best 80s cartoons i saw were mostly non-Americans Capitaine Flam AKA Captain Future,Ulysses 31 Albator AKA Captain Harlock.

The worse thing about hanna barbera was the fucking sound effects. They recycled ever one of them. So irritating
