Arghhh! The 80s was when American cartoons started their nosedive, IMHO. Late 70s to early 80s were the peak years, especially for Hanna-Barbera, and after that it went downhill.
Captain Planet and the Planeteers was a particularly offensive one, due to Ted Turner's preachiness.
