The DM - Evil Incarnate.

To all you D&D players/DMs out there, I've played and DMed for about 14 years. I'm curious to know what the most devious thing any DMs have done to their players.

For me, it had to be "Oil of Impact" grenades. Put some of that oil in a flask and throw it: BOOM!

1. Our Fighter had a ring of wishes. We were fighting a Batezu (sp) and another higher demon. We managed to take one down, but the other was opening a can on us. The fighter wished the demon to be banished. A portal opened up into the lower levels of Hell (forget which one). We all got sucked in, and we had to burn the last wish to get out of there.

2. A player once used a wish for a strength of 25. I turned him into an ogre.

3. Our Barbarian decided it would be cool to throw a keg of explosives onto a raging fire to blow up a giant that was attacking us. He rolled a 1 and fell into the flames with the keg. The shockwave blew my fighter back 30 feet.

4. We were chasing some ogres who had kidnapped one of our teammates. They cut a suspension bridge that was suspended over a cliff. My Drow Deathweaver jumped the gap and used levitate. I manged to get off a lightning bolt, about halfway across. Then an ogre hit me with a boulder and I fell. I miss that character.

5. My 15th level fighter got knocked off an airship and hit the ground at terminal velocity. My HP was high enoughm I made my save and survived.

6. Shadowrun: A deal went bad and our Samurai took off on his bike with the loot. He wanted to do 120 mph in rush hour traffic in downtown Seattle. He was making +6 modified driving rolls. Then he decides "I want to look behind me to see if I'm still being followed" (+8 ). He fails, slams into a Cadillac, flys off the bike, and slams into the trailer of an 18-wheeler.

Ah... good times....

The vampire familiars waiting at the bottom floor of a vamp rave club for my vampire hunter character who had thus far proven immune to small arms fire thanks to dermal armor enhancements and his own body armor.. wouldn't have been a big deal if they didn't have a friggin anti-tank missile down there.

My party escaping from a pack of Nazi lycanthropes in a Weird War 2 style RPG only to run into a demon-possessed Tiger tank.

My DM once put my level 3 wizard and 2 level 3 z fighters(yes it was an odd campaign) Against a level 15 z fighter... My party members died. I was saved because I used the bodies of the guys minions as a shield, and escaped his notice... Unfortunatly, he was looking for survivors of his energy blast, so I had to act quickly.... I had a Spider climb spell left, and used it. I ran, cast spider climb, and scuttled down the cliff without him seeing me(crits on hide checks are good)

No... when your DM plunges your 4th level elf wizard nto the future where they hate elves and attack you with Repulsor gunships....

Though I did learn to channel raw magical energy and cast spells without preparation by making skill checks

And to use action points to do the same

hehehehehehe I used tensers floating disk to take out a gunship

I still say the worst thing I really did was having a Half Orc who loved to read. (Read magical books on stratagy, Machevelli's The Prince, and other texts. He scared everyone shitless because he was smart and skilled enough now to become the Orish "Alexander"

Liches and Dragons using their mind-control and polymorph spells to either replace the fair maiden, or make the maiden not want to go home..

One word: Tenebrus.

Another fun one I did as a DM:

Sword of Glory, Magical Weapon grants the user the effects of a limited wish. <Limits being it has to be something accomplishable through a feat of strength or Arms> the use of this wish, btw in the tradition of the 300 Spartans, John Henry, The Charge of the Light Brigade etc. Kills the user, and no they can't be ressureccted <Their legend now>.

Hot damn, that's cool! My greatest invention had to be what I refer to as "Armors". They were remotely "controlled" pseudo-golems that were controlled by three people. Hence, if a fighter, mage, and cleric controlled one remotely, then the Armor would have the abilities of all three. First time I put one against my party, I damn near killed everyone.

I managed to convince my DM once, to modify the Wall of Force spell, so that instead of being completely immobile, it could be centered on an object. I then proceeded to cast the hemisperical version of it around the Tenser'S Disk I was sitting on, creating my own personal APC. And since the hemisphere is wider then the disk, I could cast Magic Missile underneath it.

This was in Stormbringer....

1 I rolled on the Chart and got Melibon'e Nobel as Birth/Nationality. This is bad, the Melnibon'e are EVIL, Canabalism, and Gang Rape are just relgious ceremonies conducted on a frequent basis. Also they have a chance to get any creature of the lowerplanes or boundable evil creature (Like Gargoyles) to serve them.... After two or three adventures I had more power then most people wanted to think about, and I was creating my own Rune weapons, and defnsive wards. Oh and by the age chart I was only a few years past puberty...
