Half Life editting advice needed

Post by LT.Hit-Man »

Well after I'm done this next chap of my fic I'm going to whip up a SP/DM mod for HL but I have found the worldcraft realy blows dead donkey dic, I can not get the fucking thing to work, I have patched it updated it and still the GUI keeps craping out on me so fuck it.
What I need to know is where I can find an editor that will work with HL Op4 and Blue shift that will let take maps from all of the HL games patch them into one big ass map and edit all the MDL's from the three HL games as well as there placement and weapon editting as well and be easy to use so that I don't have to take a ix year computer programing corse just to make the smallest mod to the game.
Thanks.

You don't actually make the mods themselves with the editors, just the maps. You need C++ to make the mods.

And Worldcraft 2 will not help, anyway. If you're going to do map development, you need the Valve Hammer editor (what WC got renamed to). It's an offshoot of Worldcraft 3.

Well, yeah you need both C++ and the SDK (unless you want a mod that adds some numbers or concatenates some strings ;)) but the point remains.
