Okay, that is... bar none... the weirdest post I have ever seen anywhere.

I don't want to laugh at him if this is true, but I also have serious doubts as to the veracity of the story. For one thing, the guy said (among other horrible, horrible things) that he had lost a testicle, yet describes "family jewels" in the plural sense.

From a totally scientific point of view, there are little complications with a child produced from a mother and son. the risks of complicated labor are 4% higher for two factors: the genes are very similar adn the mother is likely over 40. Genetic abberrations occur usually after a few generations of inbreeding due to the increased likelihood of damaging recessive genes becoming damaging dominant genes.

Other then that I really don't have any comments. This sort of thing happens all the time.

On a slightly related note, this months SciAm or PopSci or one of those magazines ran an article on first-cousins getting married. Geneticists said that first cousins are not doing much harm marrying one another, and infact such incestuous relationships are often beneficial because they retain good genes. The article notes that complications in labor increase only by about 1% to be about equal as a mother of 40 giving birth instead of at 30. The article also noted that it takes many many many generations of inbreeding to significantly damage the children.
