Some frustrated troops stationed in Iraq are writing letters to representatives in Congress to request their units be repatriated. "Most soldiers would empty their bank accounts just for a plane ticket home," said one recent Congressional letter written by an Army soldier now based in Iraq. The soldier requested anonymity.

In some units, there has been an increase in letters from the Red Cross stating soldiers are needed at home, as well as daily instances of female troops being sent home due to pregnancy.

"Make no mistake, the level of morale for most soldiers that I've seen has hit rock bottom," said another soldier, an officer from the Army's 3rd Infantry Division in Iraq.

I've heard before that some female soldiers are suspected of getting pregnant so they can get out of their deployments whenever they want. I'm skeptical, because it's not like pregnancy is a fucking pleasant experience, but it's something to think about.

Experts warn that long, frequent deployments could lead to a rash of departures from the military. "Hordes of active-duty troops and reservists may soon leave the service rather than subject themselves to a life continually on the road," writes Michael O'Hanlon, a military expert at the Brookings Institution here.

There are obviously some people who joined up during the Bubba era imagining they'd never get deployed, and have now found out otherwise. If this operation weeds them out, the military will just be better off.

These crybabies volunteered for this when they signed up. As a former grunt, I am intimately familiar with the falsehoods and omissions practiced by recruiters, but even the most unscrupulous recruiter never leads prospective volunteers to believe that they will not be subject to deployments, the duration of which will be entirely up to the military. In other words, this is nothing they have any excuse for not realizing might happen to them. I also have a lon, long list of complaints about army life and the kind of chickenshit that goes on in the military, but this I have no sympathy for. They need to shut up and soldier.

I can tell you first-hand that that's happened. Moreover, some females deployed to Korea, which isn't a combat zone, become pregnant just to redeploy to CONUS. The battalion I was in had a 50 percent pregnancy rate among females -- none of them by husbands. While I was deployed to Kuwait in 98, one of my NCOs caught a female and male soldier in the act, behind one of the shitters (not even inside the shitter but behind it, where they could be seen), and a female officer was court martialed for charging for sex. There were several pregnancies within the brigade as well.

I'm surprised, in Korea, female personnel are so scarce compared to men that they can be "queen for a year", no matter how homely they are. I've heard of plenty who were happy to do just that.

Yes, yes.
Women in the army , prior to recruiting the "slut brigade," was hardcore dykes, and the rare "up by your bootstraps" hetero.
Women in the army are out numbered 10 to 1. That means they can pick the 1 they want out of the 10, or have the whole 10! (Cough gangbang cough) Now the lesbo factor is much lower, and the motivated self improvment types out number the hosemonsters. Half of the self improvment types had long term relationships, with plans about their post military careers. The other half wanted to see the world, get some job training, and leave behind the asscrack of a town they came from. Like the guys. (I'm NEVER going back home, there is nothing for me there.)

As for Korea.
Korea is at the front, and no one over there forgets it. In stateside, you can fuck off, pretend to train, and sham a lot. Spitting distance from the enemy, and guns pointed at you change your outlook.
The brutal climate, and no nonsence attitude of those in charge, made for a tough place, fit only for the tough. The semi tough don't care for it, and the alongforariders hate the place. If guys could get pregnant, lots of THEM would be doing it too!
A small percentage of the army is those that don't want to work, and don't have to, after they get to sergant. These are being weeded out.

I knew a sgt, who was kicked out of the army, for being fat. He could pass the PT tests, but was blubbery.
They put him on a restricted diet, gave him extra PT, and even made him move back on post, to reduce the temptation to snack. After 6 months, he was the same weight, or fatter. They gave him a medical discharge, with no disability! Bye BYE Fatty! (he was sneaking snacks, and occasionaly eating the regular, not "diet" plate in the mess hall.)

The army always attracts a few no good, lazy bastards, who like the idea of total care, military style. Shine your boots, salute, say the right prepackaged things, and care not for the future. Keep your nose clean, and promotion to sergent is automatic, after 4 years. When something needs to get done, you pick out which private in your squad will do it.

The women in the army, in Korea, can never atain the proper "Royal" status they desire, because they face competition from Korean women. Unless they fuck like minxes, and are not seeking out American 10s and 9s, they are not as popular as they would like.
Still, the slut brigade of Korea always has plenty of takers, and being the center of attention was once not possible. The marginal moral ones get sluttier, if unable to resist the new unprecedented level of male attention.
It is also well known who the sluts are, and who they aren't. The respectable guys still won't touch the sluts, (to much effort) and Korean prostitutes are cheap, taking the dogs off the market. The dogs don't CARE what the women think, and just want their dicks wet. Dates are more expencive than hoes, and you have to pretend to respect them, on post, and if from of your friends!

Go to a club, get a little buzz, fuckee suckee, and sleep it off in the barracks.Why compete with 25 other hard dicks looking for the cheap way out?
Getting laid regular helps keep your vision clear, and sluts and bitches are easier to spot with an empty prostate. Your buddies will NEVER let you forget the quality of woman your porking, and ride you mercilessly if she's a hog, or a bitch. Given how easy it is to get your dick wet in Korea, you can't justfy the razzing, with the comeback, "At least I'm getting laid! (Even if she IS an ugly slut)"
