Hehe, neat. Looks like something out of Tron.

So in other words, you accused him of plagerism. I'd ban you too. And you'd already been banned once. God, there's a fucking shocker.

If they weren't nice and freethinking, you wouldn't have had the second chance.

He's got a point, planar shockwaves are unoriginal. I can point you to tutorials dating back several years that will show you how it's done, probably dating from when it had it's first big outing in ST:VI. Plagarism is an entirely different thing, an altogether more heinous crime I've been the victim of in the past. To ban someone for saying something is unoriginal is a tad harsh, if it were out and out hatred or flaming for no good reason then by all means shut the loudmouth down, but not for expressing an honest opinion.

The tank is coming along nicely for a first model, I already passed on my comments to Shinova on another forum concerning it so I wont bore you all here with the details. Keep it up, Shin...

It looks a little like the Plasma Light Tank from Dark Reign. That is a good road to go down.

Those edges, they are too... knife-edge.
Some bevel would do wonders for them.

You think old tutorials are bad, wait till you see the 3DSMax tool that is specifically MADE for planar shockwaves, allowing you to manipulate everything. I suggested to Floodcasso outside the message board that he should make a realistic spherical shockwave since it would be new and interesting, but he shrugged me off.

But anyway, the tank is interesting. Honestly, it needs a lot of work, but its an idea.

Shinova-- Two this: list all the things a hovering tank needs (forward propulsion, lift systems, weapons, etc) then build it from there.

Here's an even better idea, dump it and move on. Build another, and another, or build something else entirely. You will hate this thing after a few days, as your skills will advance rapidly and you'll see so many ways it could be improved. Building stuff is the best way to learn how to build stuff, so get cracking and dont waste too much time on what is pretty much your first model. The next one you build will be twice as good because of the practice you've had.

And practice on those spherical shockwaves, too. ;)

That tool rocks! You're jealous because LW doesn't have it! :P

Too bad I think planar shockwaves suck, are over used, and generally tend to give away it's digital-ness, oh yes, and they suck.

Hey, that was done in around 8 hours, in my first try, right after building a bowl by following a tutorial step-by-step.

Lightwave is MUCH easier to use than it seems.

Don't be discouraged. :D
