Pizza Hut and Gorbachev -- Match made in Moscow
Funny thing I found. Mikhail Gorbachev appeared in a commercial for Pizza Hut back in 1997.

There are Pizza Huts in China. In fact, I don't know of any other pizzerias in that country.

Why are you browsing CNN articles over five years old?

Hmmm...I've never seen a Pizza Hut commerical with Gorby in it. In fact, I haven't seen any Pizza Hut commercial back in Russia.
However, St. Petersburg has only one Pizza Hut restaurant, so making a commercial would be pointless. So, it probably was Moscow only.
As for Gorby doing that commercial, well, I'm not surprised, considering that no one gives a shit about him anymore.
Have a very nice day.

It wasn't broadcasted in Russia, either - due to the fact that Gorbachev's actually quite unpopular in his home country, or so I've heard.fgalkin wrote:Hmmm...I've never seen a Pizza Hut commerical with Gorby in it. In fact, I haven't seen any Pizza Hut commercial back in Russia.

I'm waiting for an ad featuring Mao Zedong and Chaing Kai Shek settling their differences by sharing a six-pack
Or Ghandi pacifying the British by offering them Dr. Pepper
Or, at the battle of Stalingrad, Soviets toss a Klondike bar over the Germans, motivating them to charge through the enemy for a Klondike bar.
Or Viet Kong trapping American soldiers with a McDonald's burger as bait.
OR, as Saigon is captured, a citizen escapes by hurling a bottle of Red Bull at the incoming army.
ORRRRR........*is dragged away by guys in white suits*
GUY: Nothing to see here folks.

I can picture that playing during the Superbowl.kojikun wrote:Gojira: the ones during war are funny, cause you'd see like.. Germans
rushing towards the Klondike Bar, then the screen saying "What would you
do for a Klondike bar?" then see the Russians shooting the Germans. "Well..
maybe not that much. " Or something like that (because if its BAIT..)

Lincon and Booth are in the theatre during intermission and in the lobby lincon gets the last klondike bar from the consession stand by shoving booth out of the way. Right as the show's starting up again you see a gun barrel pointed at lincons head and then as the hammer falls it flashes to a screen saying "what would you do for a klondike bar?"

Besides, commercials have EVERYBODY do something out of character. They can make our fearless leader look a very competant person, but that's another argument.
