Episode 2 Ships
In Episode 2, at the end, when Palpatine and everyone are standing on the balcony overlooking the loading of the clone troopers into ships, are the ships Victory Star Destroyers? I remember reading somewhere that VicStars are capable of entering atmosphere

They are Kuat Drive Yards Acclamator-class trans-galactic military transports.

Ever read any of the books? If not, that will be a major area to work on. They're accepted as part of the Star Wars universe, without them I had no idea what people were talking about.Matt7 wrote:unfortunately, I love the OT, but something about Ep. 1 made me not too interested. However, Ep. 2 restored most of my faith

hey!
I have read most of the books, although the furthest I read (SW timeline-wise) was Specter of the Past/Vision of the Future
First SW book I ever read was Heir to the Empire - given to me for my bday I think - one of the best novels I have ever read. I have at least 30 SW books sitting in my closet. Unfortunately, none of the NJO books, or BFC books, or anything after SP/VF. Should I read them?

Of course this would only be my personal opinion, but i could give you a list of what and what not to read - even with comments.

I thought it was interesting to see the similarities between the ISD and those transports.Matt7 wrote:In Episode 2, at the end, when Palpatine and everyone are standing on the balcony overlooking the loading of the clone troopers into ships, are the ships Victory Star Destroyers? Aside from the genral shape, which does nothing more than suggest design lineage, I see no other similarities between Acclamators and Imperators.Hethrir wrote:I thought it was interesting to see the similarities between the ISD and those transports.Matt7 wrote:In Episode 2, at the end, when Palpatine and everyone are standing on the balcony overlooking the loading of the clone troopers into ships, are the ships Victory Star Destroyers? In fact, IMO, Acclamators are butt ugly compared to Imperators

Re: Episode 2 Ships
They have the wedge shape, the 'trench' connecting the dorsal and ventral sides, and the same visible armament layout- four quad guns on either side, in the same arrangement as the Imperator and Imperator II.Supreme_Warlord wrote: Aside from the genral shape, which does nothing more than suggest design lineage, I see no other similarities between Acclamators and Imperators.
Agreed. Differences include the engines, the lack of a discernable bridge tower or globes, and a reactor that doesn't protrude from the underside, nor any Imperator style hangar. In fact, IMO, Acclamators are butt ugly compared to Imperators
Still, it's ugly in a good way.

Nice to know that military shipbuilding will evolve to such an art form, that the designers can't but help produce nice looking ships (ISD, ExSD).

Re: Episode 2 Ships
I actually like the Acclamators' appearance better than that of the Imperators. The only thing I don't like about their look is that they don't look like troops transports - they should be more bulky.Supreme_Warlord wrote:In fact, IMO, Acclamators are butt ugly compared to Imperators

It isn't. It is clearly not a Victory class, nor an Imperator.
