Do you really have to ask?
Star Wars theme vs Star Trek TNG theme... C'mon!
Though I'll admit, the STFC opening music is very nice, but overall, Star Wars kicks it's ass six ways to Sunday!

Star Wars has:
The Imperial March
The Cantina Band (20's jazz, coool)
Approaching the Death Star(IM theme, kickass)
The Main Theme(Star Wars, nothing but Star Wars, those crazy little Star Wars, are coming your way....)
Jabba the Hutt's theme(Tuba solo!)
The Emperor's theme
Princess Leia's theme
The Asteroid Field
And more....
Star Trek has:
The Klingon Battle
V'ger Flyover
TWOK soundtrack
TOS Theme(corny, but you love it!)
Star Wars wins, but Star Trek has a few high points.

One other thing The Imperial March Is the only March I know of that is written in a minor key. This was told to me by a PHD in music to be immpossible. He looked into it and yes it IS in a Minor Key. Most marches are written in a major key because this key sounds more upbeat. Minor Keys are usually used to score dark pieces because their steps sound bad or srtange to our ears. He then said that John Williams is a Genius.

Star Wars of course, its like pitting a Seawolf against a disabled car carrier overloaded with Pintos.

Only the TWOK theme and the music when they nick the Enterprise in TSFS comes even close.

Star Wars has the best music, methinks.
Oh and slightly off-topic: If you happen to own Rebel Assault II (and a computer old enough to play it), go into sound settings and click "Test". You get a funny little Ewok song. "Yub! Yub! Eh ah ah! Yub Yub!"

Star Trek easy. On average Star Wars had far better music, but the best Trek music has it beat. Goldsmith, Horner, McCarthy, and Eidelman all did some fantastic scores and songs.

I had no idea you considered Trek a Seawolf and Wars a Pinto.Sea Skimmer wrote:Star Wars of course, its like pitting a Seawolf against a disabled car carrier overloaded with Pintos.

That was pretty cool.Tribun wrote:Hah! Phantom TIEs!
Seen how the "Terror" decloaked? That made the thing really interesting!
I took lots of screenshots during the game once (mainly of the Phantom TIEs), but then couldn't open them... damn old graphic formats...

IMO the Emperor's Throne Room ([urlhttp://www.benandgrover.com/ep6/music/ep6ost16.zip[/url]) is the best bit of SW music in existence, and the best piece I have ever heard. The same goes for The Imperial March, Duel of the Fates, The Force, Into the Trap and many many others.Alyeska wrote:Star Trek easy. All of the above mentioned own any Star Trek music.
