Nobody can ever say I don't love my dog.

Post by Bug-Eyed Earl »

Awhile back I documented my troubles with pests in the homestead.

Finally, my dog started scratching like crazy, and I realized she does indeed have fleas (none of the tests given yielded anything). And this happens when I wake up covered with bites, which hadn't happened in awhile. I had been doing so much yard work I assumed it was coming form being outside.

I ended up get her a $2 pill from the vet, $12 for a single dose of medicine to keep the fleas off and $11 for a spray to kill them inside. I spent another $11 for these granules that you sprinkle on your yard to kill the little bastards where they breed. And she wouldn't hold still for the $11 medicine that I had to put on her skin on her shoulder blades. I got most of it, but if I didn;t get enough on her skin to kill the fleas, I guess I'll just have to buy another dose.

Anybody got any other examples of how much they love their dogs?

Well, fortunately, I haven't been put in the position of having to do much, but she sleeps in my bed, has furniture privileges I've seen certain people denied in certain households, and when she got her furry paws full of some kind of annoying clingy plant detritus, I carried her to the house.
She's spoiled rotten, cute as hell, and the best, not to mention best natured, dog I've ever seen. I wouldn't have it any other way. :D

my dog is spoiled as hell and when he gets something in his mouth that he doesn't want to let go I hold him upside down until he drops it.

I like to lay down next to them and act like a dog and stuff

One of my Uncle's dogs died at my parent's house and they were able to call animal control to come and pick up the body for disposal.

I love my dog, she is one of the best natured dogs, and she loves people. Especially my mother. Anyone who says animals don't have emotions haven't seen my dog.

Yeah my dog is great. Little tiny Shih Zu (sp) dog, loves everybody. She love sme, mom, dad, even complete strangers. Most well-mannered and affectionate dog I've ever seen.

She's sorta obsessed with my Mom. Follows her around where ever she goes, sleep with her at night, and gets really hyper-actively excited whenever she comes home. Plus if my Mom goes downstairs or in the yard, Zoe is in distress. She isn't if she knows Mom took the car and left, but if Zoe knows shes in the vicinity but can't reach her...she can be a handful.

I have the cutest dog on the planet. A chocolate-dapple dachsund named Chip. He adores me. He gets hyper and excited henever I return to my grandmothers. You see we have to keep him there because we have the cat-from-hell living in our house and didn't take to Chip well (damn cat kept stalking the dog and smacking him, thank God we had him de-clawed.)

Anyways, Chip honestly has a personality of his own. He's also spoiled. Always getting scraps, allowed on whatever furniture he can get on, and sleeps under the covers with me. The greatest dog ever! Ill try to get a pic up even.

Now that's hilarious. So some kind of dog enforcer will take the corpse to a "dog cemetery"?

:) Well, here when animal control picks up a dead animal they most likely cremate it instead of puttting it into a landfill.

Our vet also offers cremation and if you want you can get the ashes afterwards.

I walk my dog five kilometers, daily if I can help it, with the Doggy Dam in Frick Park as the turnover point. At the Doggy Dam he can go swimming in the creek and play with other dogs, along with casing tennis balls launched by my ball caster. He comes back home and then takes a nap under a fan. He's a very happy dog, indeed.

All I remember about my dog is that the only guy he liked was my dad, and that he bit me. A lot. He dropped dead on the floor a week before Christmas when I was 5.

My cat, though...my cat rules.

My dogs get the same treatment as family members, having free reign of the house and access to taste table scraps. Some times I think they're fed better then me. Cumulatively we've spent over a thousand dollars on our dogs, from the ones I have when I was a weeeeee Tasoth to now.
