Zombies

Post by Tasoth »

being bored, I used the rules for All Flesh Must Be Eaten to devise a nasty pack of zombies. I was hoping for feedback on it.

P.S. Its a game, but there's fluff, so if this is in the wrong forum, feel free to shift it.

**************************************

Typical Zombie
Other Known Aliases: Mob rotters, Zoms, Corpses, Shamblers
Weak Spot: brain
Movement: Slow and Steady
Strength: Dead Joe Average
Sense: Like the dead
Sustenance: Daily
The Menu: All Flesh Must Be Eaten
Intelligence: Dumb As Dead Wood
Spreading The Love: One Bite Hooked
Rare Instances: Nest, Diseased Body, Nails, Teeth
Average Point Total: 8

"They hit us at 0600, sweeping over the camp like a tsunami of rot. They took down Jendezski and MacGreggor first, I still remember them firing until the last, the look of horror on their faces still haunting me. We kept fighting, the majority of the platoon smashed, dragged down by sheer numbers. It was strange, no matter how many rounds we put into them, they didn't drop. The last of us decided against a last stand and hid up in the trees. We were just glad the stupid fucks couldn't climb."
-Corporal Luke Gimitz, US National guard.

Description: At the Outbreaks beginning, there was the zombie, the rotting corpse of hollywood. No one could believe it at first, but as the growing number of walking dead grew, people began accepting the horrible truth. The most common of the undead and one that outnumbers even humans, the normal zombie is a horrifying sight. Usually rotted beyond normal functioning, they shuffle through cities, on an endless search for flesh. They are as diverse as humans, having a variable height and weight and in various states of decay. Commonly hunched, there movements are jerky and slow, having the same amount of strength as they did while alive. The most frightening thing about the zombie besides its nauseating appearence, is the fashion in which it spreads its curse. Being bitten by a zombie is an autmatic death sentence, many a victim turning to suicide or having friends perform a mercy killing, which only functions with the complete destruction of the brain. There are also mixed reports of the wounds effectively being treated, usually with astringent antiseptics, antibiotics and high doses of chemotherapy. Unverified reports also indicate zombies being homes for symnbiotic vermin, fatal plagues and having developed fearsom natural weaponry.

Combat Techniques: Listen up grunt, what I'm about to tell you is just about as effective as an Iron and Blood Legionnaire. Turns out those Pittsburghers got it right. Zombies go down with a head shot. That's right, one to the head, and they are dead. Flames and dismemberment work, but put you in harms way and take to long. I repeat, simply place a round in their head, or sever their head from their body. And make sure you get a majority of the brain. I've seen them keep walking after a bad head shot. Remember this and you'll see tomorrow.

Umbra

Sense: Like The Dead, Infravision

Rare Instances: Team Work, Animal Cunning, Nest, Acid Blood, Spitter, Like The Living
Average Point Total 41

{This is Fire Team wun-zero-wun to Camp, we've got a Rot. Permission to engage?}
[You have the go ahead. Happy hunting]
{Thanks camp. Rogers, he's all yours...}
(WOO!!) The sound of a slide snapping (Suck it down rot!!!)
Sound of gunfire and cheering. Suddenly it turns to screams.
{Oh my god! They can't do that, the-} panicked shouts and gunfire, followed by a scream
[This is Camp to fire team, report! What the hell is going on!!]
-Radio Static-

Description: Not long after the initial disbelief in the reality of the zombies faded away, humanity struck back, fortifying towns almost overnight and organizing hunting parties to bring down as many as possible. Things began to look good for a while and it seemed humanity would triumph over another adversity. Someone else thought otherwise. What would become known as the Umbra class Zombie to the scientists made its appearence at the Fall of Baton Rouge. Initially, wave after wave of zombie stormed the walls and milled about, picked off almost leisurely by the defenders. No one noticed the zombies toting clubs, axes or other large, smashing objects work their way rapidly through the crowd. When they did, it was already too late, the Umbra showed improved strentgh and speed, smashing through, leaping over and climbing around the fortifications. Many a defender fell before them, hacked apart as their weapons failed to deliver the strength needed to punch through the tough skin and muscle of the Umbra. Appearing much like the standard zombie, the Umbra can be recognized by the upright posture and smoother motion it exhibits, the wicked claws and teeth adorning it, and a preculiar vest and pants uniform worn by all of them. Tales from survivors of Baton Rouge describe packs of Umbra working together, setting traps and sensing things far better then the normal rot.

Combat Technique: You're guarenteed to face these sumbitches just as much as a normal Zombie so listen up. These damn things are strong as hell, shrug off heavy pistol and light rifle rounds like they're nothing and can leap nearly 12 feet. Fight 'em from a distance because they don't let go once they latch on and will rip you a new one with the claws and teeth they have. Hiding from them isn't much better, the brains have found out they can see heat. Thats right, they can follow you where ever you go, so drop 'em quick with one to the head. And remember, do not get close, they have a nasty habit of bleeding acid and swing their weapons with deadly accuracy.

Abductor
Other Known Aliases: Pariah, Shepards, Stealth Rotters
Weak Spot: Heart
Movement: Life-Like, The Lunge
Strength: Strong Like Bull, Iron Grip
Sense: Like the Living, Scent Tracking
Sustenance: Who Needs Food?
The Menu: Blood
Intelligence: Tool Use(3), Animal Cunning(2), Long-Term Memory, Problem Solving
Spreading The Love: Bury The Body
Rare Instances: Regeneration, Noxious Odor
Average Point Total 61
"We're use to refugees since the Outbreak, sometimes we even get the sick person, so another person in heavy robes wasn't much to worry about. Then the disappearences happened. At first it was just young folks, usually teenagers who were realitively defenseless. We realized that they hadn't been seen for a week and begin looking for them and never find a trace. Then the guards started disappearing and we got worried. Every night the city would be crawling with armed individuals and watches, most of the time nothing happened, but sometimes people disappeared. Then we found the bastard. I was in the patrol that came acrossed it, tossing a still kicking victim into the back of a van. It'd wrapped itself in bandages and robes, doing a good job of hiding. We took its head apart with several rounds but the bastard kept coming. Finally someone plugged it in the heart and dropped it. Everyone's paranoid now..."

Description: We used to be able to identify the enemy, the moaning corpse trailing grave dust and scavengers, the rot standing 6 yards away. But now they've found a way in. The world has flooded with refugees since the Outbreak, most towns and cities can't turn them away as an extra hand or gun is always appreciated. Now they've smartened up, sneaking in under robes and guaze, stealing away people in the night. No one knows why, but everyone fears the answer. Without the covering, Abductors appear much like a typical zombie, only with a more complete set of muscles and less endothelial decay. Abductors show a high level of tool use, being able to use just about anything a human can, abductors use this to their advantage, using vans to cart away victims of their ambushes.

Combat Techniques: Abductors, what every group of humans fear. Strong like the Umbra, with the same grip too, they'd make an impressive foe if they weren't preoccupied with subdueing their victims. Often seen avoiding ambushes and using weapons, the Abductor is a huge step above the Umbra. Use caution and if one is ever on you tail, aim for the heart or vital hits, it won't drop 'em but they can feel pain. Sources also claim they can regenerate damage suffered from prior battles, so make it a quick kill.

Oligarch
Other Known Aliases: Trouble, Patton, Captain Corpse
Weak Spot: Fire
Movement: The Quick Dead, Leaping, The Lunge, Climbing
Strength: Monstrous Strength, Iron Grip, Claws
Sense: Like a Hawk, Infravision, Scent Tracking, Life Sense, X-Ray Vision
Sustenance: Who Needs Food?
The Menu: Sweet Breads(Heart)
Intelligence: Tool User(3), Animal Cunning(2), Long-Term Memory, Problem Solving, Teamwork,Language
Spreading The Love: Bury the Body
Rare Instances: None
Average Point Total 93

"You hear that?" Callie stopped and listened to something I couldn't hear.
"Stop it, you're giving me the creeps. Last thing we need is to be jumpy on patrol." To be truthful, I didn't want to be out tonight, it just felt strange, like everything was out to get us and yet it was strangely silent.
"SHHH!! I think I-" she was cut off, the bloodied point of an arrow sticking through her chest. She dropped and I ran. Someone was out to get me and I needed to get to town to tell them. We didn't have cops anymore but we had justice. I slid around the old willow and stopped dead. he was standing in the middle of the road, a samuraiesque silhouette. I couldn't make out his face but I saw the gleem of a smile and the malevolent glow in his eyes.
"We've been waiting." Foot steps sounded behind me and I turned, the archer stepping out, a noxious stench rolling off him. Behind him I saw the shambling forms of zombies.
"BEHIND YO-"
"I know, we're here for you.." I felt the icy hand wrap around my throat, the stench flooding into my nostrils. In the reflection of the knife I saw the rotting face of my murderer.

Desciption: What's worse then an army of zombies? How about what's commanding it. As humanity began to gain another foot hold in the fight against the undead, they appeared. No one knew of course, the initial strikes being by small brigand style bands, a patrol or two disappearing here or there, everyone thought it was just Zombies or Umbra. Then never thought it was planned until it happened, several cities inside maine falling rapidly and without word, teams sent to investigate describing it as a massacre, the dead littered everywhere. Then the enemy became known at the Siege of Concord. The Oligarchs were seen decked in armor, crude and intricate, carrying varying weapons, from knives and swords to shotguns and assault rifles. They were directing the massed army of zombies, performing startling manuevers, using the zombies like a puppetteer manipulates a puppet. they stood out to, driven in converted vehicles by Abductors and being surrounded by an armored Umbra 'Elite Guard'. Had it not been for the heroic sacrifice of a lone sniper, there would not have been the few survivors at its end.

Combat Techniques: The patton of the undead hordes, should you come face to face with one, prey you have back up. You can't head shot them, dismember or any of the standard techniques. Ya' Gotta burn 'em and do it quick, they're usually surrounded by zoms and toting firearms themselves.
Taking them out also adds the benefit of sending their underlings into disarray, more incentive for popping the bastards.

Fomentor
Other Known Aliases: Chameleons, Joe Average, Saboteurs
Weak Spot: All
Movement: Life Like
Strength: Strong Like Bull, Iron Grip
Sense: Like A Hawk
Sustenance: Who Needs Food?

Spreading The Love: Bury The Dead

How do you stop something that looks like you? You don't really, you can only hope to prevent its coming about, and we blew that one. It had blown the power plant at 7 then the gas station. We hurried about like ants fighting that fire, focusing on it and nothing else. Thats what it had wanted. No lights to run the spot lights, no electricity in the fences, no communications between the observation posts. I'm writing right now, listening to them scratch at the windows and doors, bidding my time until help arrives, if it does.....

Description: Look into the mirror, what you see is what they look like. They've done it, they've found out how to resurrect us. Now they use ourselves against us, sliping themselves into our cities and towns, inciting riots and sabotage to bring us to our knees before they strike. They are something to be feared and struck down at the outset.

Combat Techniques: They made a blunder with this one. Its so much like us it can be brought down by the same means. The only trouble is finding it. Best bet is to have dogs on guard at all entrance into the city and should that fail, get a Legionnaire.

Harvester
Other Known Aliases: Reapers, Corpse Tanks, Impossibles
Weak Spot: Spine
Movemen:t The Quick Dead, Leaping, Climbing, The Lunge
Strength: Monstrous Strength, Damage Resistent, Iron Grip, Claws, Teeth
Sense: Like Nothing Seen,Life Sense, Scent Tracking
Sustenance: Who Needs Food?

Intelligence: Animal Cunning(2),Problem Solving, Teamwork
Spreading the Love: Bury the Dead
Rare Instances: Regeneration, Spew Flames, Spitter, Acid Blood, Explosive Personality
Average Point Total 116

" Jesus christ this thing was brutal. I remember sitting in the security room watching on the monitor. It took on the entire base and won. I remember seeing it calling acrossed the walls, half its head gone and a gaping hole in its chest, those three tendrils of it lashing out of its mouth at my friends. Damn thing looked like a bloated toad catfish type thing when it was done. It couldn't have been human, it looked nothing like us."
Pvt. Jerry Richards, Sole survivor of the Knox Massacre

Description: The stuff of pure nightmares. Rippling with muscles, this monstrosity can batter down the strongest doors to get at the individuals behind. Whatever the creative source behind this thing took the liberty to remove its lower jaw and add three hellish tentacles, tipped with a horrific barb. The only survelliance videos of it shows them being used to extract something from the dead, whatever it is being stored in a large, transparent, membraneous sack of unknown purpose. Also of unknown purpose is the tubed structure rising from the Harvesters upper back, although it has been Identified as the remains of what appear to be it bronchi. Only time will tell us what theire purpose is.

Combat Techniques: I've only seen the videos, so all I can say is spray and pray....

WTF is All Flesh Must Be Eaten?

All Flesh Must Be Eaten

Its a zombie RPG done by Eden Studios. The systems uses mainly D10s, can be used with cards or even free formed. The game itself has 3 current supplements including a Pulp fiction style, western and hong kong action flick. It also has 3 books of short stories based off it, a wrestling supplement in the works and prefab worlds to play. Great game.[/url]
