Johnny English

Well, Rowan Atkinson (aka Mr. Bean) is starring as a James Bond type, and the movie is coming out on July 18. So, who's looking forward to some more insane hijinks?

All I've heard is The Second Gulf War. Though a lot are going the Operation--route as with Afghanistan (Operation Infinite Justice?) and as we did with Panama (Operation Just Cause).

Rottentomatoes.com has it rated 50 percent. Oh well, I suppose you'll like it if you enjoy British humor...

Seen it. Brilliant film. And remember people, always look for the stairs if you can. Sewers aren't the place for people to be climbing.

I nearly died from laughter during that film. A great deal of it was highly predictable, but it was just too funny.

Saw it months ago, it was okay, it had the Bean like humour but it wasn't Bean grade stuff, it seemed a tad too childish in places, it didn't warrant a second viewing when my uni film society had it on not long ago.

But die hard Atkinson fans will love it, I only wish Bough was the same from the original Barclay Card ads.

Other nations have to wait months for US movies to reach them.

That can depend greatly on several factors such as success of the film in the original nation that made it and showed it first, cost of advertising and arsehole level of the film studio and distributor. The UK typically gets movies from the US within a month or on the same date as do most other EU and developed nations, though some films can be released ages after (28 Days Later, Finding Nemo etc.) due to other factors. Disney hates the UK when it comes to releasing films and that's okay, I hate them equally.

Needless to say, seeing a movie before anyone else doesn't really bother me, I only know 5 year olds that go about it like that, but as for Johnny English, be warned, it may not be what you expect.

I assume you all know that the film is based off the Barclay Card ads in the nineties with Atkinson as a bumbling spy.

I saw it about 3 months ago, I thought it was good Atkinson humour, but not as good as some of his old stuff.

I thought having the French as the bad guys was so fitting of typical British shows. I liked his stand up work best, but i found this very close. I thought it was better than Austin Powers.

Alright. Nowhere near as good as Blackadder. They went for more American "Pratfall" humour than British sarcasm.

And I wouldn't have given the old bag her job back.

No, I've seen it. It's OK.

They ignored Rowan Atkinson's suggestions a lot of the time and went with American humour.
