Please remember that the term "Jack-booted thugs" was used in reference to Gov't police by Democrat Senator Tom Daschle on the House floor during a debate over the Waco debacle. It was later picked up by the NRA as well as numerous other groups and made popular. But a liberal was the first to say it.
Anybody can state that the purpose of gun rights is violent overthrow of the government rather than hunting or self-defense and nobody even bats an eyelash.
The "violent overthrow of the government", such as an attack on gov't institutions and people, is not what is advocated, but maintaining the ability to fight a government that has become an oppressive, Nazi-like tyrant state. Some would argue that it lready has but at the moment I think it is hyperbole.
It is a canard of the gun-control crowd that "certain firearms have no hunting or sporting uses" but the 2nd Amendment is not a 'hunting' amandment. It is a right to keep and bear arms, not the right to hunt deer. Nowhere does it say that "the right to keep and bear arms for hunting purposes". The left wants to turn it into that, and that only.
The "left-wing media" is a myth. They are left-wing on some things, right-wing on others.
I think the media has a largely left-wing bias but are not just propagnda hcks. There is a lot of right-wing media out there, especially the talk shows and radio shows, and ever ince the media
en masse went after Clinton during the Lewinsky scandal ('course they went after Starr too) I cannot say in seriousness that they are knee-jerk hacks of the Left.
In the, the media is generally only on one side-- it's own. The are in the business to make money and they'll stir whatever pot they need to to that end.
Name someone famous who is not a hypocritical mouth-off.
Eh, good point. What can be expected from people who are paid to flap their yaps?
