ST Ground Vehicles

Post by Sam Or I »

Has anyone seen the previews for ST X, they show ground vehicals!!! Dune buggy like, I do not know if they are fed vehicals or not though. At least they have something now. Its about freakin time, even though an AT-AT would just step on them.

It's true, it's a jeep, with a phaser cannon mounted on it.

Pit it up against the nigh invulnerable Warthog and we'll see how it fares. :D

The stupid ugly buggy from ST:X has it's phaser thingy mounting BACK.
Worf? is sitting and aiming backwards in the trailer.

The only thing you could do whith that weapon is eiter drive past the enemy and blast em when you have passed.

Or see an enemy scream turn around and blast away when you are fleeing.

The big question I have is whether it has its own shield.

Because that thing has no protection whatsoever. It is way too open to be a viable combat-vehicle. Sheesh, even a guy with 20th century bullets can spray the thing and hit the peopel inside.
Not to mention snipers

To put it nicely, it looks pathetic! :?

And as such, a typical tool of Federation ground warfare.

Now that we saw a Federation ground vehicle, let's see a useful one that doesn't look like a car frame!

Did they steal a spud launcher for that rear gun? Ya know I was kinda impressed with the fact that it has a roll bar, I expected them to use some sort of force field. Of course, it still suffers from having to look the part of a Trek vehicle. Funny thing is that the bad guys are seen driving Baja buggies. Is this Trek or Road Warrior?

Looking at where that rear gun is mounted, it looks like anyone would have a hard time aiming it. Its articulated at the front, you can't even turn it 90 degrees left or right without having to get off the vehicle. Not omly that, but it has to be brought right in the gunner's lap to point it upward. Trek stupidity strikes again!

What would it have cost them to add some fucking metal plates to the frame?
What would it have cost them to place the gunner in a slightly elevated position with a rotating gun mount and seat giving him a 360° area to cover with his gun? This buggy is an idiotic concept.
Probably they came up with this one because the heros have to flee with it and they can shoot at their pursuers with it.

its spelt vehicle

And it's spelled spelled.

As far as the Fed Jeep goes, ever heard of "riding shotgun"? It used to be a quite literal term. Second, nothing is invulnerable, not even a "Warthog" or whatever it was that guy mentioned. Third, none of you came up with a better idea. Fourth, shut your holes -- at least they finally have SOMETHING.

Mr, Bean, I'm sorry, but your use of the word "acutal" is getting kinda under my skin and between my toes. The word is, "actual", and the usage you employed would make it, "actually."

Sorry, I know that was off-topic, but I had to do something.

First, you should have some sort of weapon on the front. It's the bit that will be facing the enemy. Mounting a simple rocket launcher would do it.

Second, you can make something immune to small-arms fire, which this thing is -NOT-. One sniper can take out both the driver and the rear gunner. Simple armour plating would handle that glaring weakness.

My better idea is a M1-A2 Abrams. It would squish this thing under it's treads.

Fourth, fuck you asscrab.

Deflectors are a possibility, though not likely -- bad interactions with terrain.

Did someone take your pacifier, little baby? No reply to my statements on how this could be a /sane/ vehicle, and not a pile of rolling shit?
