I try to explain. I allways viewed the canon and official as parallel universes, where the official contained everything that the canon did (in rare ocassions in a special interpretation), but added a huge amount of things to it. (Similarly to the well known Lucas quote, but involving other (lower level) canon sources (actually the novelizations, because I own neither the radio dramatizations nor the screeenplays

Besides, I lost interest in the official universe at the time of the first novell of the dark fleet crisis (or was it dark sword?), so I am now nearly a canon purist.
To me, the ICS being canon threw several things from the official to the canon universe, without the man who the canon universe belongs to. That is why it was so hard for me to accept it. (And even now, it is still frustrating.)
Do you understand it now?
