They are tied together somehow, though... I mean, their wands have identical builds, along with something else that I just forgot. :?

They're not identical, it's just that both of them are built around a feather from Fawkes the phoenix, and as such are both unusual since Fawkes has only ever given two of his feathers to be used in making wands.
