Fortunately, I was at the range getting in some practice when I discovered my Taurus PT-22 had a broken firing pin.
Taurus has a 'lifetime repair policy' that should cover fixing the gun, so my only cost should be the shipping to Taurus in Miami.
It would have been very bad had I found out in a 'social situation' that the weapon wasn't functional.
The moral of the story: Regular testing of a CCW firearm for functionality is a good idea.

That's a nice, fancy gun
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."
Mine's got the cheaper looking checkered grips, but it is nickel plated.
A friend of mine calls it my 'pimp gun'.
To me, it's a compact lightweight gun that I can carry in a shorts pocket without the weight dragging my pants down.
As one wise sage puts it; "A .22 in the hand beats the .45 left at home"
For the benefit of anyone who's worried that my carrying this gun is illegal, I have a CCW.
I'm not discussing an illegal (at least in my state) action.

Reading the title, I almost thought it was about something else. But maybe I'm just in that mood tonight.

That's ok I was having dirty thoughts too...
There's just soo much sexual interplay possible with fire arms...
I swear I don't have a gun-Look Kurt Cobaine is sterile
When I hold you in my arms and I feel my finger on your trigger, I know nobody can do us any harm.-Ok so Yoko turns into a real killer ninja chick when her buttons are pushed...

Well there were a couple handguns that had provisions for bayonets, no firing pin no problume.Glocksman wrote:CLICK

Somehow I don't think one of them would fit into the front pocket of my shorts.Well there were a couple handguns that had provisions for bayonets, no firing pin no problume.

Yeah, they are really more of a fix as needed thing, not real suitable for prolonged carriage.Glocksman wrote:

Actually, I just hung out in the IRC channel enough and took note of the times the roll-eyes and grumbles began or subsided.RogueIce wrote:That's a gross overgeneralization. By His Word...
Wow, that was a loooooong time ago that I ever saw you in the IRC. Granted I haven't been there in awhile myself, but you get the idea. It's the distant past. I've gotten better since then. At least it's not a daily thing, but sometimes it just gets that way.Darth Utsanomiko wrote:Actually, I just hung out in the IRC channel enough and took note of the times the roll-eyes and grumbles began or subsided.
Besides, when I was posting that stuff, I was talking to a pretty darn good looking female friend of mine who had just been talking about taking a shower and stuff. You keep a gutter-free mind during a conversation like that!

Actually most likely he was firing a semi auto only civilian variant, it's still very easy to empty the magazine. The fact that he didn't notice the weapon was empty until he pulled the trigger again strongly supports that, since when you fire a weapon at full auto the odds of you releasing the trigger just as the last round fires are slim to none.EmperorMing wrote:

Aimed Shots are your Friend. Better to aim at the enemy's heart and nail him in one shot with a bolt rifle than waste a whole magazine and maybe get a few flesh hits on him...Sea Skimmer wrote:Actually most likely he was firing a semi auto only civilian variant, it's still very easy to empty the magazine. Except the odds of the latter happening are massively more so then having a chance to line up an aim with a bolt action weapon. Your far better off firing constantly to suppress the target then to give him the same time to take an aimed shot at you. This is why the US went through about 40 billion rounds of small arms ammunition in WW2.Einhander Sn0m4n wrote: Aimed Shots are your Friend.
