Nice to see that you don't have that much of a grasp of Judeo-Christian mythology... Original Sin is a little more complicated than that.

So, other than being a spewing of sexist garbage, is there any point to this?

I don't know why, he's clearly shooting for the humor side of it hence all of the smilies.

Now, I could understand why it might not be an interesting topic in which case it will die from lack of participation but it's not like he posted a serious sexist rant that should be jumped all over. This thread could just as easilly be taken as a shot at men because of their preoccupation with women and have absolutely nothing to do with what women do or don't do.

Ahem, Original Sin is based on sex. The Original Sin is the act of sex needed to conceive you.

Or am I talking about something entirely different?

*grumbles* That's what you've been claiming for years--but it was really the other way around. You bloody males got the upper hand decisively once urbanization started and it's just taking a long time to undo the damage... *crooked grin* Heck, look at the Minoans, where the societal conditions of urbanization in a maritime enviroment allowed for gender roles. Not only did we invent ornamental art and recreational sports, but sea-power and maritime commerce, too...

Ah, yes. The Aegeans were quite a people. Flushable toilets, peaceful wall-less towns, women didn't wear tops... truely, it was a paradise.

Of course women tempt men and distract them from more useful work. So does food and TV.

If it weren't for Rebecca, I probably would have gone for my Master's degree. Not that I have any regrets; I'd gladly make the same choices if I had to do it all over again.

Sorry for being late on this...

No, Original Sin has hardly anything to do with sex. In fact, I have no idea where you would get that from...

Original Sin is the fall of Man, when both Adam and Eve ate the Fruit of Knowledge, gaining the knowledge of Good and Evil (which is divine knowledge), which they were strictly forbidden to do.

Therefore, God punished them by casting them out of Eden and among other things making Man surcumb to old age and disease, forcing Adam to toil and work in the fields for food, and that Eve would experiance pain monthly and during childbirth. That is Original Sin.
