Yeah. My friend has a group-game deck based around the same theme. It is the most creative build of that theme I have seen.
Hey, is anybody appauled by the way the new cards look ?
Fuck yeah. Damn you, WotC.

Best combo of all time by the way is.... Mox ruby, black lotus, channel, karvaeks torch. First turn, uncounterable win.
Better way, tho it takes longer. Channel>Initiates of the Ebon Hand>DrainLife. Why end the turn with no life?
And there's a nastier trick to this one:

price of glory, Burning Sands, Dingus egg
Use alot of direct damage cards to destroy opponents creatures. Price of glory and burning sands will insure that no matter what they do they will lose land and dingus egg will just add insult to injury
Dingus Egg, Dingus Staff, Wildfire/Wrath of God/Armagedon/ etc. (works best in Creatureless decks, or decks with Regenerators)

Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

WTF?!??!
Did they have an accident between M:tG and that stupid StarTrek game? That's the Fugliest Card i've ever seen! Ron Spencer's Drawings for BlackDog Gaming didn't even gross me out like that card did!

I think phasing needs another set. I mean they did it with cycling, and phasing was a remarkably underutilized ability, as was cumulative upkeep.
I get tired of seeing good mechanics go to waste. Double strike is great but I've only seen one or two creatures with it, and that was in the set it was introduced! Amplify was another great mechanic for the tribal theme in the latest block, but once again was under-utitilized.
Kahmal, Fist of Krosa has that affect built in, along with the ability to turn lands into 1/1 creatures.
Damn, anybody else here think that double strike is a stupid idea?
Nope, allows you to kill creatures as big or bigger than your creature with ds, but the only two creatures I've seen with the ability are a beast from legions ( 2/1) and a dragon from Scourge (6/6)
Hey, is anybody appauled by the way the new cards look ?
Yeah, and I actually like the design, it's nothing but the last set in a long line of changes. There's a lot of articles on the main site about the new design for 8th Edition and beyond. My only problem with it is that the new cards are going to clash if you try to combine them with old decks.
BTW, has any one heard about Wizards discontinuing the "Counterspell" card?
Dark Hellion wrote:Why isn't this thread stickied?
I'll leave that up to the forum mods. I know they don't want this place covered in stickies.
On a side note, it's not really an "official" thread unless a forum mod posts it as such. The reason it is official then is because that forum mod can lock or delete any other threads on the same topic.

That is my big problem with it.
Wanna bet they're doing it so you'll buy the 'Official' M:tG card condoms? (yes, that's what we called them)

You mean card sleeves? Uh... I use them already. (Not the offical ones, though. Too expensive, lesser quality.)
