What car do you drive ?
What car do you drive ? How many cars do you own ? Note I am asking about your own car so the family car does not qualify as your own.
I am too young to get a drivers licence so I can not own a car. Maybe someday when I grow older and get a job I will have my own car.

I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

A silver 2001 Honda Civic LX 4-door, manual transmission, 4cyl. inline 1.7L engine. Slightly "riced", new stereo deck (Pioneer DEH-P9200R), stock speakers (don't knock it, I have been out-thumping a lot of those nutters who actually put money into their speakers, Honda really outdid themselves with the system in that car), and of course the standard blue HIDs. (aka: dipshit roadracer magnets, they get bored with me real quick at least)
I've sort of dubbed the car the "Silver Bullet" just due to my atrocious speeding habits. (I've already done 100+ on the freeway which is rated for 60, and me doing 80+ in the 45 on the way home from a friend's house is not uncommon) Though I only have 2 tickets, both for 70-in-a-60., and both from when I was inadvertantly speeding, rather than deliberate.
Btw, the sad thing is, my car has a stock drive train... I smoked one of those road racers on the freeway a while back (open stretch of road, fucking tailgating SOB in a lowered and majorly modded CRX), i hit 85 and he couldn't match the accelleration. My guess is that the notable amount of white smoke from when he tried to pass me was from prior roadracing and his glaspacks, in short his engine was fucked and I took advantage of it. It's just funny that the guy with about $200 in mods to his car, mainly stereo, squashed the guy who spent probably as much on mods as he did to buy the car to begin with.![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

I drive a 90' Civic DX, that can't accelerate worth shit. Well, it is a Civic after all, but what I like the most is the power that gets sucked out of the engine when you turn on the AC. Before that, I had a 85' Celica GT. It had slightly over 100k miles on it, and I bought it for $900. It was in great condition too Despite the fact that it was an 'older' car, I loved it. I washed it, kept it clean, which is hard to do for a college student going to a 'commuter' college. Then it got totaled in an accident.

You needed a new engine, and someone probably monkeyed with the config of the AC, since I do work on cars and the AC is a constantly running system as long as the engine is running (it is driven from the main belts), unless it is an electrical type, which is not common.SpacedTeddyBear wrote:I drive a 90' Civic DX, that can't accelerate worth shit. My Civic has some impressive get-up-and-go for a 4-banger.

I have two cars.
The first is a 98' Alfa Romeo 145 2.0 Twin spark. ~160HP and it's very light weighted, good, fast car for city-use.
The second is a Ford Mondeo 2.5 V6 ST200 from year 2000. 205HP, medium weight, and very comfortable on long distances.
I want to sell them both and will buy a new Subaru Impreza STI.![Twisted Evil ](./images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)

I currently drive my dad's old 95 Nissan Sentra XE. And that's only because the A/C works and it gets 35 miles to the gallon. Unfortunately the tapedeck is broken. Currently has over 250,000 miles on it, but the odometer wasn't reset after my father put a rebuilt engine in it.
Not like my previous car, the 91 Thunderbird Moneytrap. The kickback line on the transmission was beginning to die again and the A/C (after three major repairs on it) had the charming habit of stalling the car if you turned it on. Twelve MPG, but it had a hell of a kick. I'm going to try and sell it off.

we have 2 cars
a red 2000 Honda Accord Special Edition and a silver 1997 Honda Civic DX with more miles on it than Apollo 11. Melissa affectionatey pats the dashboard and say's 'come on girl! you can do it' when it hesitates or starts to stall.
i don't know how she did it, but she somehow put 25000 miles on it last year. Needless to say it will soon be for sale. any takers?

'82 series II red RX-7 with a series V extend port 13b turbo, 3" straight through exhaust and EMS computer. Literally a drag car i got road registered. No heater fan, rear wiper removed, no stereo, speakers or aerial, and i had to put the rear belts in to register it.
All i can say is, late model cars suck, the 80's rule!

If you want a good drag car from the 80's then the best bet is an 1987 Buick Grand National GNX. 3.8 litre (3785 cc / 231.0 cu in) V6 with twin intercooled 15psi Garret turbochargers. Now THAT is a musclecar!Hethrir wrote:'82 series II red RX-7 with a series V extend port 13b turbo, 3" straight through exhaust and EMS computer. Literally a drag car i got road registered. A '91 Thunderbird still only made Twelve MPG? Eek. They were right about Ford going downhill in the 80s...Dalton wrote: Not like my previous car, the 91 Thunderbird Moneytrap. sounds like the old Ford 302 (5.0) V8. That engine was a gas hog, especially as it aged. The design dates back to the 70's.The Duchess of Zeon wrote:A '91 Thunderbird still only made Twelve MPG? Eek. Unfortunately (but not really), my job and recreational activities don't allow for the use of a car. I'm thinking on a Impreza WRX later on, but it's not really that big of a deal.

Well, you see, up until last year I owned a '77 Fort Thunderbird. I am a very economical person--I got the car when I went to college, and, well, it just ran superbly ever since. I eventually ran it up to 300,000 miles. And it also got 12 MPG.Col. Crackpot wrote: sounds like the old Ford 302 (5.0) V8. That engine was a gas hog, especially as it aged.
