Real Cyberdyne Systems T-800
Or maybe not, but eerily, just as close and yet a live working model.
Okay, so it's a disembodied head, but it's a) made by the same team at Reading University that gave us the smartest robots on the planet (the Seven Dwarves) and led by Prof. Kevin Warwick, world leader in cybernetics, b) it looks damn cool and works, c) it scares kids shitless, or at least the pussified ones that don't know what a Terminator is, have to be 18 to see it on your own too.
Prof. Warwick has just reaffirmed his coolness in the field, and if anyone makes a real live Skynet plus army of cold and unstoppable machines, I hope he does. I humbly await our superior robot masters of death.
Oh yeah, here's the links to Morgui or "Mo" to the creators:

hehe, looks cool. I wonder what this will bring about in new consumer products. Maybe better robotic animals? Bleh, probably too expensive right now to mass-produce...

He said he was getting aroused, I said "now you need one in the RealDoll style". What's wrong with that?russellb6666 wrote:*off topic......uhhhhh ok (damn there needs to be an uncomfortable cough smiley)Mitth-raw-nuruodo wrote:Now all you need is a full-body one, in the RealDoll style...kojikun wrote:oh that is so COOL! its like the terminators only in kickass futuristic plastic! im think im getting aroused..

/me has an idea: Floating metal skull with a small repulsorlift engine and one of these mounted on the bottom...TheFeniX wrote:Shit, when can I buy one!?
That would be the coolest thing ever to have in your house. Just this damn floating robot skull staring at everyone, following their every move.
Does no one else see the vast potential for this?

Ironically, I was considering doing computing along with cybernetics at Reading University after getting his book a few years ago called March Of The Machines whcih detailed everything from advancing AI and military projects to cybernetic implants and so on. The book started off with a scenario just like post-Judgement Day which was cool.XaLEv wrote:Valdemar, how about you go over there and smack those ethics people. Do us all a favor.
UltraViolence83: What's wrong with the Prof.? He did last year's Royal Christmas Lectures on TV about robotics and the guy has neural implants that control his house and transmit feelings to and from his wife! Now he's making Termies, I can only imagine being his son.
Now where's the plans for that Westinghouse 40kW phased-plasma rifle...

That is fucking cool, reminds me of a Terminator comic where the Terminator is destroyed but head sent to a mad scientist. Time to go to Crystal Peak.

AV: I just don't like him. There's certain people in this world that I just cannot stand. I want to flip out in a rage whenever I see Friends because I loath Jennifer Aniston's haircut.
I don't like the good professor because, well, I used to be batshit paranoid about AI and machines and shit, and cybernetics still creep me out a little bit. Of course some of his work is useful to crippled people and the such, I just want it the fuck out of my body. I'm not lazy enough to need a fucking lightswitch in my arm.
