Hi guys!
OK, time for an embarassing story...I would have been here a few times over summer hols, but I accidentally locked myself out of both the boards and my school's e-mail service (which is what I'm registered through) by forgetting my passwords. Luckily, I work on campus a few weekends through the summer, and I managed to get them to unlock my account. So, I'm back on a restricted basis (really bad connection, will probably only check in once or twice between now and getting back on campus), but I move back the last week of August (probably the 25th), at which time I can resume my usual suave, debonair posting style with the aid of the LAN (and it's all MINE the first week!).
So, good to see y'all are still here. What'd I miss?

They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

The only thing redeeming that is that it's anime from the same years that America was doing Scooby-Doo. If I didn't know that, I'd really be laughing over you using that cheesy Lupin III for an avatar...Look, new av!
I've got a few pics I want to use for avs, but I need to find a scanner (the only person I know who has one is my ex-girlfriend, and asking her would be asking for trouble).
*Hugs back* It's good to be missed. This whole 8 months on, 4 months off thing kinda sucks. But at least I am back.Zaia wrote:Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!! *runs up to Dark and hugs him* We've missed you!
Oh, yeah, I mentioned when I left that I was looking for grad schools. Right now, Boston University's top of my list, but I'm traveling in October to look at Emory. I think BU's most likely, assuming I can keep my GPA high enough to get the scholarships I'll need to afford a graduate program. Was very cool, though, getting to see the Constitution and walk the deck. Oldest comissioned naval vessel in the world. I'll try to post pics if I can find a scanner back on campus. I think I took most of a roll of film just for the ship.

Ooo, the Constitution. I go see that a few times every summer...
