The Story of Peter Pagan and Katie Christian

Post by Dorsk 81 »

Ok, browsing homeschooldebate.com (yes, I know, the stupid burns so much) and I came across this little fable in the "Should Christians Marry Unbelievers" thread.
"katie christian" stood on a chair, while "peter pagan" stood beside it. when katie tried to pull peter up, he didn't budge. yet all peter had to do was one tug and katie tumbled off!
Now, first, I would have thought it would have been kurt christian and pansy pagan seeing as the women are the tempters (i.e. Adam and Eve), but thats just nit picking.
Second, I think it's outrageous that all non-christians are labeled as "pagan". Why not andy athiest or something?
Third, if your a true christian then no one should be able to de-rail your beliefs.

The term 'Pagan' is used by whomever can scream "you're a baby-eating savage!" the loudest.

Ah ha! So that's why she fell! She was screaming really loud and the force made her loose her balance...interesting...

I knew someone was going to post about that eventually. The moral of the story is: people on HSD are fucking stupid. I've made less than 10 posts over there and don't even browse anymore.

Well, I guess it says the quality of teaching with home schoolers.
It also says how "Fragile" their faith is, they cannot take argument and they admit it.

In my experience with home school, quite a few kids are in it because public/private/religious schools don't say "Lord" and "Jesus" enough. They buy special textbooks for this purpose, and they're downright creepy, as well as insufficient in educational details (like providing biblical quotes to relate to the motivations behind the Civil War rather than just citing the actual historical events that led to it).

It's pretty frustrating to deal with kids who don't have even a basic education because they were too busy repeating some bullshit mantra without question or thought.

If I recall, the only verse against marrying unbelievers was written by Paul, or an associate thereof. If you ignore the works of Paul(like I do), then, as far as I can tell, not only are there no restrictions against marrying unbelievers, there's less msygoginy(sp?), no celibacy, and no restrictions on pre-marital sex, beyond the basic rule of 'watch out for soul-consuming lust'.

Of course, you pagans don't have to worry about that to begin with, do you?

That post on HSD melted my fucking brain. It's so assinine and over-generalized that it's insulting to boot. I think it's funny how people have ripped it to shreds here, pointing out how easily her faith was derailed.

THe Bitch was standing up on a chair lifting up her skirt showing of her nasty bits trying to seduce peter. BUt Peter wasn't having it because the bitch was just teasing him and wasn't going to give it up, she wouldnt go away so he pulled her off then smacked her in the face.

Bitch got what she deserved.

I'd you'd written the Bible, Church would have been a hell of a lot more interesting for many people.

What's so good about standing on a chair, anyway?

You'd never get anything done.
As a metaphor for Faith, I think it's ironic that it's such a precarious position to be in.

ezekiel

24:3
And utter a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it:

24:4
Gather the pieces thereof into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.

24:5
Take the choice of the flock, and burn also the bones under it, and make it boil well, and let them seethe the bones of it therein.

24:6
Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum is therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it.

24:7
For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust;

24:8
That it might cause fury to come up to take vengeance; I have set her blood upon the top of a rock, that it should not be covered.

24:9
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great.

24:10
Heap on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned.

24:11
Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed.

24:12
She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire.

(sarcasm) But it symbolises how High and True and Pure we are as Christians, and how down in the mud and filth of their evil the pagans are! We have our lofty ivory towers! A good Christian should work to make themselves as inaccessible to new ideas as possible!(/sarcasm)

Its also ironic that the 'pagan' cannot be pulled down, for they have their feet on the ground. And without another chair, to 'uplift' the pagan, they must both share the same chair... more precarious by the minute!

What was katie standing on a chair? Doesn't she know that is dangerous? One could fall down and hurt oneself?

I think she was on the chair because she thought she was 'all high and mighty' in comparison to Peter and wanted to show off for everyone else.

And what's this about 'pulling Peter up'? Where was she going to put him, obviously she overestimated her strength. Why didn't she ask Peter to climb up on the chair, rather than forcefully pulling him up?

I don't know, but if some pretentious bitch was standing on a chair preaching about how special she was, while pulling on my ears, I would probably knock her silly ass off the chair myself.

So there!

Katie Christian eventually realizes she is a lesbian. Her family and church shun her. Peter Pagan tries to show support, but is ignored. Katie gets depressed and commits suicide.

Atheist conclusion: Over time her corpse decays in it's grave.

Christian conclusion: God vommits her sinnful faggot ass straight to hell.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.
