It seems I was destined for this BBS at an early age
The following picture is from the first thing I ever published, a book I made in 2nd grade. (It won some kind of state award, I remember) I found this book in my closet and had to chuckle.
For those who can't see it well, it shows two ships, the Enterprise and the Tantive IV. The Enterprise is saying "Enterprise to Tantive IV", to which the Tantive is replying "I copy".
It's kinda cute, just thought I'd share it with you all.

I read a lot of SW books. I actually read the ANH Novelization before I saw the movie. Then I read a bunch more books (my elementry school liberian loved SW, I guess, cause there was a big-ass section devoted just to SW books n stuff), and uhh, I guess it went from there.Demiurge wrote:You knew the name Tantive IV in 2nd grade? Back then I just called it "that spaceship that was shooting at the other spaceship."

Oh, no offense taken. I never was good at drawing, I know that. Writing comes easy, making the illustrations are a pain in the ass.Gambler wrote:Hahahahaha that reminded me of Madoxx and something he wrote about primary school kid drawings.

I wish I kept some of my old drawings around. I remember drawing the Battle of Yavin incessatntly for years because I learned hot to draw the back of an X-wing (big X with four red dots where the engines should be) and a TIE fighter coulf be drawn by a retard. When I discovered colored markers it became ridiculous with red bolts, green bolts, red colored X-Wing engines, what fun....sigh.

I remember when Jedi was about to come out I drew a picture of what I thought Jabba and his palace would look like. If I remember correctly, I made him look more like Max Reebo.

I use to draw really retarded pictures of the Power Rangers and big, huge battles with TIEs, X-Wings, and one Star Destroyer.
Now I'm trying to teach myself how to draw for real, and it's much, much harder.

Oh, yes the childhood doodlings. I would actually make enterprises out of torn strips of paper. I was so fucking analyitical at age 5 that I would make the nil, A, and D actually look different, and sometimes lable them. Of course, they never talked to each other like yours did, in fact they didn't do much of anything, they just were.
I was much more into ST at that age, you won't find anything SW until my later elementary years. I had this one drawing of a big starfighter battle inside the DS2, with the reactor core, falcon, a-wings, interceptors, x-wings, y-wings, and of course lots of little pencil lines between them.
Sometimes the battle would sort of occur as i drew. I'd draw a few ships, dashed lines between them, then scribble out some of them in pencil explosions, and do it all again on top of that.
And, of course, you have to consider my countless attempts to remember what a ship looked like and draw orthographic views of it. Gonna go see if I have anypics lying around to scan.

Whenever I used to get bored at church (Yes, being a Preacher's Kid I shouldn't be blah blah blah, but with this bored I'm not worried about people calling me a bad person). I would turn over the sheet and draw out giant space battles between TIE-fighters, TIE-Intercepters, X-Wings, A-wings, Y-Wings, B-Wings, The Death Star, and the Millenium Falcon. There were plenty of explosions and stuff...yeah those were the days.

heh, You did that too? I made these nice, fantastic looking ships, just sort of lazily floating along, some going in the opposite direction, all well and nicely made. Then, lines would come out of nowhere and explosions would take place.Alan Bolte wrote:Sometimes the battle would sort of occur as i drew. I swear, I had the dumbest fighter pilots and ship captains ever. They just sat there shooting at whoever was in front of them, never trying to dodge or anything. Wierd, I tell you.

I know a lot of people who did that. We even would face off in mock drawing battles to see who could make the biggest and baddest explosions.
