Shut up you two! Entechment would suck. In the book, it's explained that Luke can hear thier cries and comforts them with a mental nudge from the Force. That would SUCK! Being a Borg doesn't seem to affect you the same way. At least if you stop being borg (7 of 9) then you keep all that uber knowledge. I don't really know the other stuff.

My god what is it with you two and polls?! On topic, I think that entranchment = death so that would suck. I guess you could argue the same for borg, but didn't Picard come back from it?

Anywho, if I had to pick what I would most like it would be; merged with a shadow ship. I mean if you are gonna loose yourself it might as well be by being made into an uber ship!

Merging with a Shadow vessel would be horrible. Outside of Locutus/Picard & the Borg Queen we see now residual personality within the Borg. Shadow-vessel victims remain concious yet unable to do anything except what the Shadow controllers wish them to do. Also look at the visuals, the people are really part of the ship... They are stuck inside it. How much would that suck? At least with the borg and Ssi-Ruuk you get to get out a bit and see the world. And blow it up.

It's not really SciFi, but... the Eternal Wake (or whatever is called in English) from Gaiman's Sandman.

In it, the person sleeps and cannot be awakened. He makes horrible, scary nightmeres. He dreams to wake just to find himself in an even more horrible nightmere. Till he dies, at the end of his natural lifespan.

There is of course the goa'uld thing in stargate, your aware of whats happening but unless you have immense willpower can't affect the outside world, and you live in that state basically forever...

Then there's the goa'uld that was locked in one of those repairing humans sarcophagi with a nibbling creature, for thousands of years..

Mine would be infected by the Beast from homeworld:cataclysm. Basically you are turned into circuitry and kept alive for possibly eternity (if you don't get killed or used for kamikaze attacks).

Being Gou'ulded is interesting. Basically you have a snake wrapped around your vertebrae which controls everything you do. You have no control over your body. However a tok'ra would be ok, since you would be able to control your body parts of the time, have uber knowledge, and live ~ 200 yrs

With the Zerg, you either become a bomb, or if you have Pis powers, you get to keep some free will while getting uber powers, generally. Infestations in which neithero f those happen seem to be quite rare.

Anyway the Zerg normally just kills everyone and everything and takes some blood samples from the choice species.
