What does CVS stand for?

Post by HemlockGrey »

We've all seen the prominent drugstore chain known as CVS; at least, those of us who live in civilized nations have.

My question is simple: what does the acronym stand for? Google yields no clues, and the closest I've gotten is 'Commercial Vending Services', via Dictionary.com's Acroynm Finder. Is that correct, or is it something else?

I know both Current Versioning System and the drugstore. Both are about on par. So when I think of CVS, I think of something that Linux hacks use or place were rednecks by drugs and KY jelly. (Yes, I'm a Microsoft man!)

Consider buying Very much Stuff from us?

The one down on 12 Mile and John R. used to be an Arbhor Drugs, then it turned into a CVS. At about the same time, the empty lot across the street turned into a Walgreens.
