Aww, that's so cute! Any idea why it's called an island when it isn't, by the bye?

Oh, and I'm going there with my friends for New Year's this year, I think. To Providence. Hope there's stuff to do there. :D

Actually the first settlements in the 1600's were in rhode island in narragansett bay which is now the city of Newport. Now i've heard 2 stories about where 'Rhode' came from. The first is that one of the large landowners was names Rhodes. The second is that is it a corruption of the word rouge. Rouge coming from the fact that the islands in the bay were a haven for rum-runners from the carribean smuggling booze into puritanical Massachusetts.

[tour guide barbie] As for stuff to do on New Years Eve, the club scene is actually pretty rockin. Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel on washington street is a really good rock club. if you're into techno and trance etc Metropolis is insane. Thats over on Pine street(i think). Envy at The Strand in another cool dance club, thats behind the Biltmore hotel, also on Washington. (all of which are downtown, close to the financial dist.) There's a buch of cool little artsy-farsty clubs with jazz and latin and drama over on weybosset And if you like to eat, then take a drive down Atwells ave into Federal Hill....it's like what little italy in NYC used to be like before it got overrun by chinatown. (thats on the other side of i-95 on the western side) And there is always new little music and poetry clubs on the east side over by Brown and RISD. so it all depends on what u are in the mood for. [/tour guide barbie]

EDIT: awwww shit! Zaia comes to my hometown the fucking week i'm in st. martin! damn you fate! *shakes fist at fate, then realizes fate is intangeble and cant be affected by my fist , whistles a distractin whistle
