Even if we were to find him walking somewhere we'd still throw a gun at him and tell himtoo run so we could finish him. He won't be alive for long in Iraq so I guess he might try too cross the border somewhere and act as a refugee.

The smartest thing Saddam could do would be to have trusted intermediaries contact a major European news bureau such as AFP and arrange for full live coverage of his surrender to US forces.

That eliminates the chances of him being killed while 'resisting arrest'.
He still could get shot while 'trying to escape', but I don't think anyone would buy that story.
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."- General Sir Charles Napier

Didn't they say Saddam's boys were killed by shrapnel from missiles fired into the house?

Remeber the attempted "decapitation" strikes? First word of Saddam and they'll chuck some cruise missles at him.

But not possibul, they only used TOWs after two attempts to storm the room failed with losses, and even after the bombardment one person was still alive and shooting and killed during the third assault.
