If she does come back that will be good if she does not come back so be it but I will say this for the last time

I didn't partake in that thread, but I would have bitten and given my usual welcome. But Miss Grim seems very opinionated (in a good way) and very well-spoken. I'm sorry to say that she's not happy with the board right now, and I hope that she'll eventually change her mind, and I'd be glad to welcome her to the board. But never, EVER would I label someone a troll SIMPLY based on where he or she is from, until he or she PROVES him/herself to be one. I am ashamed.. [sighs]

Do we really need to keep harping on this? I'm sorry that it happened and all, but can we PLEASE stop reprimanding each other like parents to toddlers? I had no part in the thread in question, but I'm sick to death of people sounding like we can appease her by jumping down each other's throats. Gil has apologized for leaping to conclusions, and the board as a whole did something about the poking.

If she wants to come back, great. If not, that's too bad, but should we really start a civil war bitchfest over it? Jesus Christ, I hope not, because I deal with enough shit like this during the day--why would I want to come here for more of the same during my leisure time?

I don't think we have an unhealthy obsession over her departure but I can understand why Lt. Hit-man posted this thread. I think some of the other members need to be reminded of their foolishness.

Bleh. I'm just annoyed that everyone harps on the pokers. You can have your opinions on poking in general, but dammit, don't say it was the whole reason she was driven away. So far as I remember from that thread, she said she didn't care about the pokage, and it seemed to me it was the troll accusation that got to her.

Say what you will about poking, but I'm annoyed that people are blasting it and lumping the pokers in as something that drove her away, when I remember her posting she didn't mind it and seemed far, far more upset over the troll accusation.

If I'm wrong about that, then feel free to correct me (point to the thread, or maybe what she wrote in her site since I never looked up the URL). But if I'm not and my memory is serving me well enough, then I'm frankly pissed at all the "poking drove her away" people.

Did I miss something? I remember glancing at a welcome thread, where some politeness and a lot of pokeness happened, but I missed whatever it was so horrible to drive her away. Someone called her a troll? Any particular reason? Probably somebody read the thread title but didn't bother to read the post itself... here's a hint: don't do that.

Anyway, I think poking can be childish but hardly comparable to some sort of abuse. If somebody *did* something actually awful and horrific and offended her, well then it's his fault and his fault alone... calling people "bad, bad pokers" accomplishes nothing.

Nuff said.

Hrm... where to start...? I suppose, first of all, I should clarify that I really didn't mind the poking at all, and I did say so in one of my posts on the locked welcome thread. The part that I minded was being accused of being a troll, when I'd just gotten here and hadn't even done anything to cause any trouble, or said anything rude, and then having the thread locked before anyone (including myself) could conclusively report that I wasn't a troll and had no bad motives. Then, in the thread about not poking, some people had just started to point out that I was, in fact, who I claimed to be, and then that thread was locked as well. I know that those threads weren't locked because of me, but because of what you guys term 'spam' (other forums I participate in only use 'spam' to refer to unsolicited advertisements, hence my confusion), yet it was still very frustrating to me that someone had accused me of being a troll and the relevant threads were being locked almost immediately. Arrgghhhh...

I'm not writing off StarDestroyer.net, but I'm really busy right now, so I'll probably just read when I can without having much time for participation. I don't think anyone really meant to be offensive, and now that I know about your recent encounters with a 'she-troll' it does make my welcome post look a bit suspicious. Really, people, what are the odds that a genuine nude-website girl would show up to participate in a sci-fi/fantasy forum immediately after a fake nude-website girl pretended to participate only to mock said forum? I was a victim of very, very odd circumstance, I think. =P

I do have a lot to do, though, so don't view my non-participation as non-friendliness... I have five photo shoots to catch up on, journal entries, artwork and comics, and on top of all of that I just got my beta CD for a new MMORPG in the mail (guess which one is going to be my top priority). So, nobody's feelings were hurt and I'll be back around later on when I'm more caught up (and maybe by then you guys will have all of your new rules figured out and there will be less confusion).

PS - I *do* wish you would still allow that manga-style poking image with the girl being poked in the... erm... chest. That was adorable. Maybe as some sort of poking compromise, one representative could post that one image on a welcome/introduction thread, and the image could link to a poking web page with the other images and poking messages from forum members. That way everyone could get their pokes in and there wouldn't be any spam.

Quite possibly, yes. Not that you'd meet much resistance (from SDNet anyway) or anything...

But, for me, that's not such a bad thing. Assuming I can make it out of Kelly's sector. She thinks I'm horny. That could be bad if I were under her total rule. I'd probably run for Zaia's Zone. She thinks I'm cute (I think...and hope if she ever takes over).

Or I can go to your area. Maybe I can come work for you if I do.

Part of the problem was not actually the pokers.(But was something that honestly a more then a few mods and members never cared for...it's an SB tradition that isn't used....so why did we adopt it?)

It was that she was driven off and many saw the accusation and poking as the reason(Gil did apologize thus don't scream at him).

Also poking seemed to be nothing more then Post count +1, or spamming and like I said it's an SB tradition one who only a few even know it's root(A few people I understood why they poked because they were SB alumni...a couple older members enjoyed it...but to many of the mods this was just a little too out of control)

I'm happy not so...since I want to see new member who would participate.

As pleasing to my ego and me personaly though it may be for it to be the former...it's probably the latter.

And, dammit, I'm no stalker! I'm too lazy (and poor, since they live all over) to actually go and stalk them. Though maybe if I can arrange a visit to DC someday I can look Zaia up (which I've already promised to do, or at least for a dinner)...
