I for one, do not need a partner for life, who tempts me, and tries to drag me down. I do it well enough myself.
FOr me, unequally yoking, would mean I would propably be the one to be dragged down.
Why? Propaganda. Quite simple. U.S. Soldiers, born and bred in the U.S. Of A. In world war II were demoralized, and often thought "Why am I here?" Because of Propaganda Towers. Its the same way with Evolution and Paganism.(Evolution is Pagan, But thats a topic for another thread.)
You have Science Articles saying "Ancient Chimp Sapiens Found!" Then 3 months later, in the back page "Chimps found to be Hoax."
Constantly thrown in our faces are lies. Just like the WWII Soldiers. Constantly we are being told "You are a idiot, who has no mental capacity, because you dont believe what I think!" Thats why I listen to Christian Music, and Christian Radio. I prefer a message I agree with, when I am listening to things.
The same goes for Muslims. If I were a Muslim, I would marry a Muslim. Why? Because we would not argue so much! We would not have the tension of saying "IM RIGHT! YOUR WRONG AND THIS IS ABOUT MY DEEP CORE BELIEFS!!!!"

I can see his point because I feel somewhat the same way about any long term romantic relationships with fundie wack jobs like him. I just wouldn't want to go through the hassle, and then there's the family etc...
I still hate that term "equally yoked" though. To me it suggests as sense of superiority from thos who use it, but I'm probably prejudiced because there's a dating service I've seen advertised on tv called "Equally Yoked" and it caters exclusively to Christian men and women. Like Chrisitans looking for other Christians can't meet at chuch, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, or even through the want adds. Is it too hard to put down Christian man seeks Christian woman?

Uugh, people like this sicken me. If your faith is so strong, why can't it stand scrutiny? I can understand the point of not wanting to fight about your beliefs, but why would you have to fight about it?
Well, what if they have kids?
What's wrong with raising them in a neutral fashion until they're old enough to decide for themselves?
