Mexican wrestling
So - mainly through my interest in B-Movies - I have discovered the weird, weird world of Mexican wrestling.
It all sounds rather interesting, but there's something I'm interested in and it's not the silly masks!
Thing is:
Outside of the USA, American wrestling is often ridiculed for the fact that it's
more choreographed than a Broadway musical. Does the same apply to wrestling "South Of The Border."

Possibly... what little I've seen of it seems to be just as much a soap opera as the US version.Simon H.Johansen wrote:So - mainly through my interest in B-Movies - I have discovered the weird, weird world of Mexican wrestling.

Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

Re: Mexican wrestling
I've watched some Luche Libre on tv and its not even close to being trumped up like the WWE. Sure the Mexicans have angles and some storylines to keep things interesting but they don't do any hillbilly marriage angles or kiss my ass scenes.Simon H.Johansen wrote: Outside of the USA, American wrestling is often ridiculed for the fact that it's more choreographed than a Broadway musical. Re: Mexican wrestling
It appears that an actual fight is a requirement for wrestling in South America, though whether this makes it more or less cheesy is hard to discern.Simon H.Johansen wrote:So - mainly through my interest in B-Movies - I have discovered the weird, weird world of Mexican wrestling.

That's not saying very much however. I don't think I've ever seen any real Mexican wrestling, what station, network in the US carries it?Darth Fanboy wrote:i watch that stuff on TV all the time,, and I dont care what them people are saying (i cant speak spanish) but Its FUN! much better than WWF.
